This is my first cruise and I will be cruising with my daughter and her family: Me-Marilyn know as Gummy to the grandkids, DD,SIL,her stepdaughter who will be 16, then my 4 year old DGD and 2 year old DGS--I have to admit, I am very afraid of water, so to do this is taking a BIG step..hope to meet a few more dissers before I depart...I do hope I have all the abbreviations correct....:goodvibes I am so excited for us to be doing this cruise...:cool1:

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

We are on this cruise, too!!! We just got off the Magic and rebooked for back to back on the Dream for April 10th-17th.

This is exciting to find people that will be with us on my first cruise:) How many of you in your party? I will have my daughter and her family, her husband, 1 stepddaugther who will be 16 and then a 4 year old granddaughter and a 2 year old grandson..I can't see enough pictures, so if you have pictures and can post them from your trip ,I would love to see them:) Thank you...

Might be joining you. Currently booked for the 4 night, April 17th. Group is myself(mom) and two dd's, who will be 11 and 9 at the time of the cruise. We previously cruised a 3 night Nov. 09. Want to fly in the Wed night/Thursday morning before. I was thinking try Universal and the Rock and Roll Hotel, but girls are wanting to do back to back cruise. We loved going to Atlantis the first time around and thoughts of going to Castaway Cay twice does sound enticing. I went ahead and booked this three night and then as it gets closer we can make a final decision, but at least I will have early dining for sure and lock into the early booking price.

Oh, this is fun...just learning of others who will be on this Dream --vacation....I know we have 13 months, but, the anticipation is worth the wait...can't wait to meet you and your daughters.

:grouphug::cheer2: HI everyone!

This is my first leg of my back to back cruises.

It's me: 39
My husband: 38
My daughter: 6
My son: 8 (turning 9 on the cruise)

Surprised at how few have checked in for this one. The three day following this is jam packed!

Hi all - This will be our 10th or 11th cruise on Disney. It will be DW, DS7, DD 5 (B-day on board), and myself. Looking forward to cruising on the Dream.

Well, I am sure that it is filling up just that people haven't posted. It is about 10 days before Easter next year so that may be the difference..Any way I look at it, I am reading and reading as much as I can get my hands on:) Since it will be my first cruise...

Thanks for the welcome. It is fun meeting the group before hand. We had a group of 10 of us go together from the ship to Atlantis(well comfort suites). Since I take my girls alone, it was nice having companions someplace foreign. For water fear, you might consider asking your dr for a bit of Xanax. You can take a small dose and it will take away your anxiety but not knock you out.

This group is growing. I am on the following group too as of right now, we are doing B2B. May change our mind and just stick with the 4 day and do something else during this 3 day.... but then again, the girls really want to do the B2B and since it is 10 days before Easter, might as well be on a ship. They fill them up pretty much every single week, so wont' be any surge of crowds.

Anyone have cabin 7567? That is the cabin we have for our 4 day(4/17). There are no 11B's left for that cruise.... hoping that someone cancels 7567 for this cruise?? or I can find the same room in this catagory so we don't have to change for our B2B cruises. I guess I am trying to find if the person who has 7567 is for sure going or did they book this as a dummy date which I know alot of people do while onboard a current cruise... thanks..

Sorry I can't help with the cabin, we have connecting cabins on deck 9...

Thanks Marilyn... figured it is a long shot, but I know I actually cancelled 2 cruise dates before settling on my one in 2009, so figured if I found out who had that room, could have them pm me if they were cancelling so I could snag it. This board is too quiet... where is everyone??? :surfweb: The 4 night cruise that follows board is getting busy. Maybe everyone isnt' quite as obsessed as I am. :woohoo:

I love the planning and I have never been on a cruise before, so this will be a big step...I thought there would be more dissers on the April 14th cruise....especially on the Dream..they maybe and just have not signed in yet:) I am very excited and I am trying to research as much as I can....I am a big time planner, being it just with a few friends for shopping or a vacation with my husband or my grandchildren or my sister's grandchildren:)

I am a big planner too..... or maybe it is just I find the anticipation as fun as the actual vacation.:thumbsup2 We are still a year+ out and there are a lot of staterooms still available compared to the 4 night 4/17. They are sold out to a category 8. Happy planning. Anything I can help you with let me know. We have only done one dcl, a 3 night in December, but I feel like I know a little bit to help me this second time around.

I will probably take you up on your input. I worry that I won't know what to ask...thank you:)

Keep reading the boards, they are very helpful. Are you flying in the night before?? The three night goes really quick, so it was important to me to have the navigators ahead of time.(those are the papers they leave under the door each day of the activities) I am sure they will be posted on disboards once the Dream comes out. Even if there were minor changes, it at least gave me a chance to figure out the day. My girls and I really loved the stage plays. We went all three nights, so that didn't give us alot of time to do other things. I don't regret it, but am looking forward to this B2B cruises as a chance to do other things in the evenings. We are not ones to stay up late, so we only made it till about 1030 at the latest each night. One thing I will do next time(and vowed to do last time but didn't take advantage of it) was order snacks via room service. When we arrived we did order the all hands on deck(cheese, fruit platter).... but each night I was goign to order cookies/milk and just never got around to doing it. We went to Atlantis and decided that night to just eat room service dinner. It took a long time to get there and afterwards I wish we would have ate at Topsiders up on the upper deck. We did really enjoy eating breakfast at Topsiders and eating outside on the deck with the warm sun(not too hot, it was November) but very comfortable eating. Gotta get kids ready for school, I really shouldnt' be on disboards. :scared1::laughing:

Yes, my plan is to arrive the day before. I am seriously thinking of renting a car to a hotel near the port, but.....that is just me prethinking stage. Where do you stay after you arrive? I have a million thoughts running thru this brain of mine, maybe I should write them down and pm you with a few of them:) I am going to do room service for sure as my granddaughter wanted to do that before when we went someplace and I didn't do it, but I will for sure this time:) Thank you for your help...

Last time my girls had to go to school that day, took them out about 2pm and then went home, showered and straight to the airport. So it was a little after 8pm when we landed. I ended up just staying at the Hyatt for convenience, off the plane and right to our room! I had gotten a stay certificate for $140, so it wasn't hugely overexpensive but really benefitted us. If we come in earlier this time, I will likely rent a car too and drive the port the night before... probably stay at one of the hotels that has the free shuttle to the terminal in the morning. We rented from Budget last time(AFTER THE CRUISE), got a code thru mousesavers.com site. Was happy with their service. I would be too worried flying in the day of, plus the cruise is short, so you might as well enjoy the ship the earliest you can board. Going to be hard for my girls to wait till next April. :rotfl: They are really excited about going on the Dream. Well off to check if any room numbers opened up, really would like to be able to keep the same room.
