Just wanted to pop in and say hello everyone! Officially booked this as our very first cruise due to the Castaway Cay challenge. We booked a cruise on the Dream two summers ago but ended up canceling in favor of a trip to Aulani. This was the perfect excuse to book again!

We're a group of four and will have two staterooms. My mom and myself (25) in one and my uncle and brother (19) in the second. My mom, uncle, and myself are all doing the Dopey and my brother will be doing the 10k and half, then we're all signed up for the Castaway Cay 5k challenge! I'm so excited

My wife and I will be cruising with all of you and are looking forward to it. It's great to see that there will be so many first-time cruisers. I'm sure you'll have a great time! This will be our 6th Disney Cruise and the second time we've done the Dream following the marathon. It's a great way to relax after the RunDisney weekend! I'll be running the marathon (4th time), while my wife has the more difficult job of trying to figure out how many places she can view the race. I am in for the Castaway Challenge 5K. I've done it a few times before (minus the bling and entry fee) including after the marathon in 2013, but am looking forward to seeing what new course they - ahem - 'dream' up. We are really looking forward to the cruise and hope to get to meet many of you. Just wanted to drop by and say "hi."

We are extremely excited about this cruise! We have made it our tradition to cruise the Monday after marathon weekend the past few yrs. And this year we lucked out and get to be part of the castaway Cay challenge!
We have run the castaway 5k before, but decided to choose regret over price, and signed up for the challenge! It's not very often that you get to be part of an inaugural event.
There are 4 of us running, and a total of 12 cruising. Kids ages girl 5, boys 3, 4, 2, 1.
Is there a FB page for this cruise yet? I have found it easier to access FB then the disboards.

Careful... My mom used to say this, and now she's done the inaugural Tinker Bell Half, Dumbo Double Dare, Dopey Challenge, Tower of Terror 10-miler, and soon the Avengers half and Castaway Cay challenge! I think her bank account cries every time runDisney announces something new

Our first Disney cruise! We all signed up for the castaway challenge too! We figured since we were already doing the marathon weekend and the cruise, we might as well my kids don't know about the cruise however.., we are surprising our 4 kids with it for Christmas! Excited!!!

We did this last October and it was AWESOME. We literally got to the port before my kids realized what was going on. Super special memory!

Hi, my husband and I along with my adult daughter, and possibly son and his wife will all be on this cruise after our races during marathon weekend. did the cruise on the Magic after marathon weekend in Jan, 2014 and loved it. That was our first Disney cruise after many cruises on other lines. My daughter is doing the Dopey challenge, so she will need the time on the ship to totally relax and recover!

Also - as we get closer, if there's enough interest, I'd love to set up a private mixology class for our group. We've done it twice in the past and it was a BLAST! ($15 per person for the class and 5 'sample' drinks)

Castaway Cay Challenge cruisers, don't forget to call DCL and have the code "RUN" added to your reservation number. Maybe overkill, but better safe than sorry.


And if there are any other really crazy folks out there trying to figure out if the Star Wars races at Disneyland are even remotely possible, there's no way to get there for the 5K on Friday morning, but I found (and booked) a Delta flight 1659, leaves MCO at 11am, arrives LAX at 1:18pm, should be plenty of time to get to the Expo to pick up bibs.

Thanks Leah for keeping track! I think all my bags for FE are pretty much done besides my DIY stuff I have to do but at least I think everything is bought unless we get more people.... I am way to excited & I think my husband thinks I am nuts lol

That's my problem - I always buy extra and then even more people than my 'extra' sign up! So I'm trying to spend more time planning and less time doing. Must. Practice. Crafting. Restraint!

Once I get something in my head I have to do it immediately.... I have a crafting problem hahaha. with all my DIY it will prob take me awhile to do them anyway might as well start early! Now you are making me think I should buy more than my extras.... ugh

I understand. Every time I walk into my office/craft room to 'clean' I see some piece of crafting heaven that sparks my imagination and I leave a bigger mess I think I'm ready to start some of the crafty stuff too and just buy extra supplies

For those interested in the FE - still not sure what we're doing, but if we hypothetically included alcohol is there anyone who does not want that? (Or anyone raising their hand to be the amnesty cabin?!)
