Of course now that there is only 3 wks left to my trip Disney releases Spring room discounts. I got a great rate at the Hilton but of course is non refundable. My only concerns and worry is about bus transportation to and from the parks. We won't have a car. If anyone has anything to post about there stay or transportation expierence it would help me out
TIA

I have not used transportation but have stayed there and talked to guests who did and they seemed fine with it.

Look at it it this way, for the price of a Disney "value" or less you are getting a REAL hotel with interior corridors, nice beds etc. I think you are going to like it! I perfer it to most Disney hotels. Better quality etc for the price!

I stayed at the Hilton last April. We had no problems with the buses. We also had a car but found the buses to run on schedule. We were usually the first one picked up. My only problem was with the actual hotel since they placed us in a wing that had construction going on. They eventually moved us. I also had a jr. suite room which was the first room off the elevator and right across from the ice machine. I never knew so many people actually used ice. :rotfl2: The character breakfast was cute. :)

I will say that after my stay, I let them know that my experience was less than stellar. The Hilton sent a gift certificate for a one night free stay for a future visit. I'm going in Sept and staying on property but would not hesitate to stay at the Hilton again.

Thanks for all your kind words. I'm hoping our stay is wonderful. We have been to Disney several times in the last few yrs but we have always stayed on property. I think I'm just getting nervous because I'm not sure what to expect.

I stay at the Double Tree about 2 doors down from you, matter of fact we leave the 25th. If you have never stayed there its a great place :thumbsup2 !! I think (depending on the size of your party) the best way to get to the hotel is to contact Mears for a shuttle or rent a town car if you have 6-8 people in your group. The buses run on the hour and half hour but some times are a few minutes early. Obviously you cant walk to DTD in about 6-7 minutes. Stop worrying and go enjoy yourself!!:cool1:

The first time I went to Disney we stayed at the Hilton. We had a problem with the bus our first day (Well evening...) It came an hour late. We talked to the hotel manager and they got things straightened out. They took our concern very seriously and got us a ride to the airport in a town car as compensation (though we weren't looking for anything. We just wanted to get to Animal Kingdom!!). After that one incident everything was perfect the rest of our trip!!

This hotel took their service very seriously

I did not use any transportation, but I did stay there a few days ago. The rooms were relaxing and comfortable. The outside and inside of the hotel was just beautiful! Maybe you could check on there site about transportation?

dont sweat it. My hubby and I stayed a couple years back. Loved it! Bus transportation wasnt that long of a wait. I think 30 min at the most, but truly...not bad considering you are off disney property...that downtown disney was just across the street and I do believe Hilton is the ONLY offsite resort that will offer EMH. (might ckeck me on that. I remember reading that somewhere) You'll have fun. Dont worry:thumbsup2

I stayed across the street from the Hilton at Regal Sun Resort a couple years ago with my niece and had no problems with the buses on the WAY to the parks, but did not like them on the way back, I didn't like waiting so far away from the Disney resort bus stops and the buses on the way back seemed way less frequent. So coming back from the parks we took a bus to Port Orleans FQ or the Beach Club, then got a bus from there to Downtown Disney and walked over to our hotel. I know this sounds like a pain, but honestly it worked out pretty good for us...it was just me and my niece though, I didn't have to struggle on and off buses with a stroller or anything. Just a thought if you don't feel like waiting for the Hilton bus a night or two.

Another thing...the Hilton is the first stop for those buses, so you have to go around to all the other hotels when you get on there, but if you walk across the street to Regal Sun, they are the last stop before going to the parks, so if you get on at Regal Sun, you skip going to all the other DTD hotels. Also handy to know if you just miss a bus, you can catch it across the street.
