Drama, Please End...Fun, Please Begin...A Sept TR Updated 10/31

Hey Sophia!!

You started!! So excited to see how the rest of you trip went, and from the sounds of things, it wasn't much better than it was the night I saw you! What an awful start (that I already knew about)!!! But I admit, meeting you was one of the highlights of my trip too!! So fun to meet such great folks!

Next time I'm in Kentucky, I'll be sure to get a Meet set up- so we can REALLY talk!

:goodvibes

Bus ride did not sound fun, but like you said, at least you got seats

I love boma breakfast. We are eating there again this trip and can not wait :cool1:

Joining in, our trips overlapped and we met some of the same people-KatMark and Queen. Sorry about the early drama-glad you were able to make the most of it. Your Mickey heads on ur nails are really cute. looking forward to more!!

Hi, :welcome:. It's nice to have you join us. Your girls are so adorable. I saw pictures on Kathy's PTR.

Hi Liesa. Glad that you are here.

It was so nice to meet you and LeeAnn. :goodvibes

Kentucky is a few hours away from us but next time you're there let me know. I'd like to arrange a meet. :goodvibes

Joining in...pretty sure I followed you over from Kathy's PTR. :goodvibes

BOMA is delish! I think I like dinner there better...they have zebra domes on the buffet for dinner. :lmao::rolleyes1

We left AKL and drove over to DAK. I took a picture of where we were parked since Joe didn't bring his handicap plaque this year and I knew we'd forget where we parked.

Here is another self portrait shot and some pictures from the tram.

Don't we look special? You can practically see up my nose.

The flag was at half mast in remembrance of 9/11.

As we were going through baggage check, I saw something that I have never seen before at Disney....a bomb sniffing dog. He was on duty and had a sign on him that said do not pet. My God, he was a beautiful dog.

It was tough to get a photo of him, but I tried.

Disney2010Sony126.jpg

We grabbed maps and then headed over to ITTBAB. Here are some pictures that I took along the way.

We didn't have to wait too long for the next show.

My favorite part has got to be the stink bug.

After ITTBAG, we made our way to Camp Minnie Mickey. It was a race to see if we could catch the next FOTLK show.

Disney2010Sony147.jpg

Joe used the flip video and guess what? When we got home, he deleted the entire show by accident.

I can NEVER get decent pictures here, but I tried again anyway.

After FOTLK, we made our way to KS. It was a very short wait. Our driver was interesting, to say the least. He was so not into his job.

The family wanted to ride EE, except of course for my mom and I.

Disney2010Sony266.jpg

Mom was getting over heated and to tell you the truth, I was getting a little worried. I stopped to get her water and took her into the shop where the exit from EE is. We hung out there waiting for the rest of the family, but it seemed like she was fading fast. I was worried that she would faint. We had planned to do Kali but there was no way that was going to happen. I had also planned to stay for Jammin' Jungle since I have not seen that in at least 5 years, if not more but that wasn't going to happen either.

Once the family got off of EE, we all walked close to mom in case someone had to catch her if she fell. We left DAK before 2 p.m. and headed back to the resort.

I stopped to take a couple more pictures in the lobby of WL before heading to our room.

Disney2010Sony267.jpg

Disney2010Sony271.jpg

Once we got back to the resort, mom went to her room to rest. My bro went to our room instead of going back to POR. Joe, my sis and nephew went for a swim.

I found a table and sat near the pool. I called my friend Jenn, as I was missing her terribly. She was supposed to be on this trip with us. We chatted for a while. After every one was finished in the pool, we went to Roaring Forks. My PTR had us scheduled to go there a lot, but let me tell you...the food was terrible. That was the one and only CS meal that I had there. It was gross!

We headed back to our rooms for a nap. We had a dinner ADR at Fulton's that night. Fulton's is my sisters favorite restaurant. We were really looking forward to our meal. Too bad we didn't know what was in store for us when we got there...........

I just realized that I forgot one important thing from our day at DAK....Joe got hit by a flying DUCK....seriously. :lmao:

A Cliffhanger!! What a trip! Travel issues, transportation issues, flying duck/torpedoes! I can't wait to hear the rest. :lmao:
Great pictures too!

You can't leave us with a cliffhanger...... lol.

Great Animal Kingdom pics. There is just so much to explore and see there.

MMMMMMM Boma breakfast. That was one of the best meals we had last year and I vow when I go in February to try some zebra domes as they look yummy.

Tell Joe not to feel bad about be hit by a duck, I was hit by a bird last summer at the Columbus zoo. It happens to the best of us.

Enjoying your TR so far! What a rough start to your trip! We had a bit of a rough start as well... our flight was delayed and we were supposed to meet family members in SLC. That didn't happen! It makes for a frustrating day, especially when you have somewhere you want to be!

Migranes are no fun-- especially when you can't get what you need to get rid of it. The rooms look nice though! We ate at WCC and I was really impressed with the look of the resort. I need to stay there sometime and can't wait to hear more about your experience there! I like that it isn't pricey like the monorail resorts, but there is a boat service to the Contemporary that can get you to the monorail. So you have easy access without the price.

Can't wait to hear more! =)

I didn't see the flying duck. My brother told me about it though. I guess there were children chasing the duck and it took off...flew right into Joe. :lmao:

Thanks Elizabeth. BOMA is tasty. You def should try a zebra dome. Yikes, did you get hurt by the bird?

Hi, :welcome:, glad you are here.

Sorry to hear about your travel issue. :sad2: It is frustrating when you want to be somewhere and you are delayed. Especially at the start of a vacation. My headache finally went away but not after jamming a cheeseburger down my throat riding the fake monorail to the luggage carousel. :scared1:
Did you like WCC?

Wow, you are flying through the updates.

Wilderness Lodge looks so beautiful. We took the boat over last trip to try Roaring Forks and check out the lobby. I was hoping DH would see the lobby and have an overwhelming desire to stay there some day. Nope, he just said "Yeah, it's great... are we leaving yet?":confused3

Sorry to hear the heat took such a toll on your mom. I'm glad the rest seemed to help.

Yum. I can't wait to hear all about Fulton's. DH is allergic to shellfish so I never book anywhere that is mainly seafood such as Fultons or Cape May. I just get to drool over everyone else's photos.

Anyway.. I LOVE your report so far!

Subbing now, will be back to read later - hope the title of yoyr trip report is just ironic!

Hi Di, :welcome: You are so close to your trip now. I can't wait to hear all about it when you return.

This trip was quite the adventure!

Hi and :welcome:

We really love WL. I wonder why your DH didn't seem interested?

The heat really took a toll on mom this year. :sad2:

I think you are smart to not book Fulton's or Cape May if your DH is allergic to shellfish. I have a friend who is allergic and all he needs to do is get near the stuff and he blows up. :sad2:

I last left you preparing for Fulton's.

We arrived at Fulton's and were immediately seated upstairs.

Disney2010Sony272.jpg

We were a bit bummed because we didn't get the yummy crab spread and crackers. Instead we got the bread, but we were so looking forward to the crackers and crab spread.

There was a football game on and my brother was keeping an eye on the score.

Disney2010Sony273.jpg

We ordered appetizers. My brother had the fish tacos. I'm not brave enough to try these things anywhere.

Disney2010Sony274.jpg

I had a shrimp coctail. My mom and I my sister decided to split one.

Disney2010Sony275.jpg

Joe had the crabcakes.

Disney2010Sony276.jpg

Everything was delish, as usual. The crowd however, was totally out of control. There was an obnoxious table of 16, yes 16. They were so loud that no one on the entire floor could enjoy their meal. The more they drank, the louder they got. People were complaining but it didn't seem to do any good. You literally could not carry on a conversation, it was that bad. Babies were falling asleep and then being started when the table started up again. We were praying that they'd just keep the food coming so that they would eat and shut up. It was horrible. I've been in bars that were less noisy than these people. They clearly had no regard for anyone else in the restaurant that was trying to enjoy their meal.

My nephew loves ribs. He ordered them here. Check them out! We were laughing when we saw them come out, knowing he'd never be able to get through them.

Disney2010Sony277.jpg

My mom, sister and I all got the same thing. But we all made the same mistake....we forgot to ask that they not put butter on the plates.

Disney2010Sony278.jpg

The mistake we made comes into play later on and it also earned us a nickname from my brother which I don't know if I am brave enough to share on the boards yet.

I have no clue why I don't have pictures of the meals that my brother and Joe got. :confused3 Considering every time I whipped out the camera to take pictures of food, both Joe and my brother were making fun of me....food porn...boom chicka wow wow....and stuff like that. :rolleyes1

We finished our meals and figured we'd do a little more shopping before heading back to WL, dropping off mom and my nephew and then heading to meet Liesa and LeeAnn at Jellyrolls. I got into World of Disney and all of a sudden, I got sick....like major sick...get me to the bathroom NOW sick. I could not find anyone in my family to watch my stuff for me so that I could go into the bathroom. I began to panic, started to sweat and see stars. I finally caught Joe's eye so I flew into the bathroom. Dang butter.... you see, we can't eat butter or most dairy or we have to, as my aunt would say, strap a toilet to our butts! Yeah, no kidding. The stupid butter had spilled onto my plate out of the little cup thingy. Because it was my fault that I didn't tell them not to bring it, I just figured, eh, what can it hurt? Well, let me tell you. I was in so much pain for the rest of the night. I went outside and sat on a bench for a while. I could not even get up to get back to the car and go back to WL. Once we did get to WL, I was done for the night and totally mad at myself for not being able to meet Liesa at Jellyrolls.

Disney, Day 2 - Craptastic Stuff/Drama = Mom overheatig at DAK; me missing Jammin' Jungle, Joe getting hit by a flying duck, loud obnoxious people at Fultons, getting sick and not getting to meet Liesa
Disney, Day 2 - Fun Stuff = zebra domes

That about seems to sum it up~

Great pics at AK. I love the tree of life.

Sorry the heat was affecting your mom so bad. I hope she felt better after her rest :goodvibes

That sounds hilarious about the duck :rotfl2:

Oh man, a cliffhanger....just looked down and see u posted

so guess wont have to wait too long

Amazing pictures!!
The Florida heat can be brutal, but I hope your mom felt better later on :thumbsup2.

That food looks delicious!!!!!! But i'm sorry about you feeling sick after :(

Bow chicka bow wow...that always cracks me up when I hear someone say that :lmao:

You poor thing. That must have been awful after you meal.

That sucks about those obnoxious diners. Shame they were not asked to leave :headache:

All caught up now! Oh dear - not ironic then! :scared1:

Still WL looks gorgeous, shame about all the hassle so far, espcially the obnoxious people at Fulton's why didn't they just get asked to leave? Oh yeah - $. :rolleyes1

I just realized that I forgot one important thing from our day at DAK....Joe got hit by a flying DUCK....seriously. :lmao:

Sorry just had to quote this as it made be burst out laughing :lmao: Only Joe eh!

Gosh you've been busy, loving all the updates, but not all the problems that entailed :(

I love the picture of you and Karin & co, so lucky you got to meet them :) and cute gift too :)

Fultons didn't sound like fun esp when you weren't that keen on the restaurant to begin with. I remember you saying that you weren't well and I didn't realise it was that bad, so sorry that happened :(

I promise you next year is going to be great and if things start going wrong we can just pick on Dave for fun :teeth:
