ok, I have no problem with Dr.Who - I respect the show as a British classic.

After all it has been running for so many years now it deserves all the credit -Daleks/Cybermen, Tom Baker/Paul McGann etc - so much history there.

I have tried to get into the lastest episodes to no avail, and I must confess I am a Trekkie at heart I suppose.

I know there are a few who will (quite rightly) voice their support for the Doctor but are there any other 'Trekkies' out there?
I suppose I just prefer the Borg and the Klingon's.

I was going to include Blake's Seven - but thought that would be taking it too far

I am not a big fan of the original Star Trek, but I LOVE Star Trek ~ Next Generation and Star Trek Voyager.

Like you Johnny I think that The Borg were brilliant, and I thought 7 of 9 was the best character in Voyager

Oh no I'm a Trekkie ~ LOL :rotfl:

Even though I haven't watched too many of the new Who series I loved it as a kid (even though it scared the pants off me :happytv: ) so I went for the Doctor

Another vote for Star Trek :thumbsup2 DH is a HUGE fan (although has not got to the dressing up at conventions bit yet).

Another vote for star trek :sunny:

Dr Who for me everytime, although I like Star Trek as well :thumbsup2

Haven't watched any of the new Dr. Who series ~ Although I loved it as a child. So I've voted for the Doctor. Never liked Captain Kirk I preferred Spock, those ears used to send a shiver up my spine.

Oh Florence :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
(love your new tag by the way, just noticed lol)

Doctor Who for me, though I have to say I am missing Christopher Eccleston and haven't enjoyed this series as much as the last.

Both are excllent programmes, Star terk is a vision of our future and maybe a goal of where we want ot be, and is more based on SCI-Fact than SCI-Fi. The spaceships and technology could happen.

Doctor is british and a mixture, SCI -Fi with comedy, you could get away with most of it in any other SCI -FI programme, but its been around so long people except 3D Glasses and faces in pavement slabs as its DW.

Doctor gets the vote as its ours British, even though Patrick Stewaerd is british!

Star Trek all the way (even though I'm far mor of a Wars fan really.) Can't be doing with Dr Who, bores me to tears, all of them. Only good thing about it was when Tom Baker did that crazy interlude thing on the second Mansun album!

Dr Who is great, but I'm a Trekkie at heart. Star Trek: The Next Generation is ok, but for me the Original Series is the best! I've had a crush on Captain Kirk since I was 5.

Doctor Who? I'd rather creosote the garden shed with a toothbrush than sit through another dire epsiode.

On the other side ...

I bow down at the feet of the creator otherwise known as "Gene Rodenberry". The Star Trek idea and philosophy shows us a society that we could (possibly, should) aspire too.

Where Doctor Who spends his time chasing tin foil "robots" around plastic sets before ending up in a caff for a cuppa with a failed pop star, Star trek has had the courage to tackle everything from xenophobia & racism to suicide and ecological disasters.

Star Trek wins. No contest!

PS - The first oribter to fly was called "Enterprise" not the Tardis. Now that has to count for something!

As usual AndRu your responses are well worth a read! :)

A very close run thing as I love both of them. Now if you had put Blakes 7 in that would have been a runaway winner :lmao:
