Stepford wives...
the day DH asks me to wash his car in thigh highs, fishnet and mini skirts is a This guy is nuts! :earseek:

You mean I'm supposed to put make up on and look good before my DH comes home. :earseek: Now if we come home late will DH freshen up for us? I think not.

Maybe if I knew what time my Dh was coming home!
but not if he ridiculued me like that jack ... did...

She told the JERK husband that he should PICK up his wife - carry her over the threshold of their bedroom - lay her on the bed...
and let her take a nap for two hours
while he cooks dinner, bathes the kids, and puts them to bed.. then cleans up does laundry locks the door and EXPECT nothing in return!
:teeth:
(my dream)

The husband was not overly attractive. I wouldn't classify him as ugly but mediocare at best. And he expected his poor wife to act like a playboy bunny. :rotfl2:

SO TRUE
I didn't get to finish watchign the whole show (kids! )
But is aw the clip of the woman talking about how wives should cater to their husbands... so who brainwashed her... what was the deal with that?
(oh and even if I did change my shirt and freshen my make-up an hour before he came home - it would be a mess in that hour! :rotfl: )

I missed the first part, but did see this lady. I actually didn't find most of what she said offensive - except she did say women can't have it all. I think if women want both career and motherhood and can handle both, more power to them. She has made a choice to embrace the traditional housewife role and I thought her point seemed to be that she didn't need to apologize for it or feel inferior for her choice. She pointed out that it's a two way street - and she'd have to have a respectful relationship to want to do what she does. It sounds like she considers being a wife and mother her career and puts a lot of effort into it.

As far as freshening her makeup, I think it's a great idea for anyone, man or woman, to fuss a bit sometimes - kind of like when you were dating. I would find it hard to believe that reality doesn't interfere sometimes, but it's a nice notion.

I agree that what Dr. Phil's wife said was completely true. I remember watching Dr. Phil on Oprah a few years back, and the husband was complaining about not having enough...you know. And Dr. Phil told him to come home, put the wife in the tub with a glass of wine, and then put the kids to bed, clean up the house, etc. and he would not have to "ask" for it anymore. I told DH about it, he tried it, and he will tell you that it works! There is nothing sexier than a man taking care of the house and children! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I saw this yesterday. Wow! I don't think that the husband ever did get it, he just knew enough to keep his mouth shut in the end. I'm not sure things are going to change. It was so sad, the women looked so beaten down.

I think that the husband still thought that his ideas were right and that someone would tell him that she needs to change.

I told DH he looked sexy in his new shirt the other day. He gave me a grin and said, "But not any where near as sexy as I look doing the dishes, right?" :rotfl: I think he's on to me. :teeth:

I am so blessed to have a DH who does just as much child raising and house cleaning as I do. ( And, yes, I find him extremely sexy) He has come in from work, seen me try to cook supper, help the kids with homework, and get a few chores done-while running around with a set of notes trying to study myself. He tells me shoo. Which means to go to the bedroom and study. So this wonderful man who is hot & tired from work, takes over supper and third grade english. The kicker is when I get an A on a test, he takes me out to dinner and says I deserve the break.

Needless to say, the whole stepford wife mentality blows my mind.
