My husband is a DRPEPPERHOLIC. Can anyone tell me if they serve Dr. Pepper on board the Disney Wonder. Also if anyone knows if they sell it at the parks would be helpful as well.

Thanks,
Deanne

No there is not Dr. Pepper on board. Same as at the parks. No D.P. Sorry!

Disney serves COKE products (sodas) only.

I am right there with your DH...I LIVE on Dr. Pepper and thought I was going through the DT's on our land/sea trip - it's like they've never heard of it OR Mr. Pibb (a close cousin and a COKE product). :scared1:

My suggestion - PACK YOUR OWN. ::yes:: That is exactly what I plan to do next year.:wave2:

Actually, Dr Pepper isn't a Coke product and depending on where you live, depends on which company distrubutes it. In mainly the Northeast, Dr Pepper is bottled and distributed by Coke, hence why it's so readily available. Mainly in the South, Dr Pepper is bottled and distributed by Pepsi, and you won't find Dr. Pepper in places that sell Coke foutain products. Coke does manufacture Mr Pibb (their version of Dr Pepper) but they have a no compete clause with Dr Pepper. If Coke is involved with the bottling and distrubution of Dr. Pepper, they can not sell Mr Pibb in those markets. (Those of us in the northeast who LOVE Mr. Pibb are basically out of luck there). If it's an area where Pepsi is the distributor, than Coke is free to sell Mr Pibb. Florida is such an area, where Dr. Pepper is bottled and distributed by Pepsi, hence why Mr. Pibb is available in that area, and Dr. Pepper is very rare to find in a foutain situation. Especially at WDW and on DCL, since they are both Florida based entities, and their exclusive agreeement with Coke, no Dr. Pepper.

Actually Dr Pepper is its own entity now. It was owned by Coke at one time. Down here, in Texas, Dr Pepper is sold mostly with Coke and Mr Pibb mostly when Pepsi has a location. We have been down to the Dr Pepper plant several times to purchase it with Sugar Cane.

Its sad that they don't carry it. Does anyone know if they carry it across the street in Downtown Disney at the Exxon. We can't bring it on the plane so we will have to get it somewhere there.

Nope - not at the Exxon. My wonderful DH walked all the way over there one night to try to surprise me with a DP. Goodings does have it though (Crossroads).

Actually Disney has ended it's agreement with Exxon. All the gas stations on WDW property are now BP. You will need to go off property to find some Dr Pepper, since in Florida it's bottled and distributed by Pepsi. Any local grocery store will have it.

Thanks for the correction, and yes you're right!! I just remembered the green pumps and immediately thought BP, since Hess is few and far between here!!!!

LOL!!! Funny - I guess I am too then - because Hess was what came to my mind too;)

LOL! The original DP plant is in Dublin, TX. West of Waco.

We have the DP Museum here in Waco. One of the original plants. DP is it's own bottling company here.

Cool place to visit if ever in Waco, TX.

My DS will have to make do as he does when we are in the parks...no Dr. Pepper.

My question is if there is Mr. Pibb, by chance?

Doubt it...he'll be a Coke kid for the cruise probably unless there is a decent rootbeer.

Thanks for the info!

Just an FYI - if you do pack your own soda to bring with you, try to get the ones that come in cardboard "boxes" and secure it with something to cushion it. We brought some plain cans (on a ring) and one can somehow punctured before we even left. At the airport before they would accept our luggage we had to find and fix the problem. Held up the line while underwear being wrung out, LOL!!:drinking1

DW loves Dr. Pepper. Here it's bottled by, surprise, Dr. Pepper, but they also bottle RC Cola and Diet Riet.
You know, since I all the soda I drank on board was served to me in a glass, never saw what brand it was on board. I guess now that it's free and at the beverage station, it will be labeled as coke. As long and it's brown, and has caffeine, it's cola in my book.

Which is another example of Disney's great taste (no pun intended) imo!!! ;)

I can tell a Pepsi from a Coke by smell alone, so I'm very happy that Disney sells Coke instead of Pepsi. In my local area, I know which restaurants and movie theaters serve which products, and make my choices based on that!

I think I feel an episode of Dr. Phil coming on. You'll spend 60 minutes hashing it out, then Phil will give you and everyone in the audience a case of RC Cola. :hyper:
