Dr. Jones and the Spitting Camel - Link to Alaska Cruise TR 9/18

You couldn't have planned this update any better considering how the movie comes out this Friday! I am definitely suffering from a bad case of Potter fever now. :lmao:

How nice that you were able to enjoy the area without all those crazy crowds! The frozen Butterbeer sounds great -- yum, yum, yum! So, you can buy brooms, too? I had no idea there was so much HP merchandise. Connor would be in serious heaven. Me too, most likely.

Yeay for riding everything and SCORE on breakfast at the Three Broomsticks! Laughed over your comment about not having any Floo Powder.

Wonderful update, Cynthia! I really enjoyed reading this one!

Love all the harry potter stuff :) I am a BIG fan of harry potter so WWOHP was a must do on our last trip. normally we never stray to the place that must not be named because my mom doesn't like to but this time we did and even though we never left harry potter land we still had tons of fun! I personally perfered frozen butterbeer over the regular stuff but that's just my opinon. I agree with the comment that you couldn't have timed that post any better. now you will have these memories with you guys whenever you watch the movies. can't wait to find out what you did next :)

It was a little early in the day for this

nah, should have went for it.
:thumbsup2

What and awesome (and huge) update! It really looks amazing.

I can't believe you're on your last day.

I looked at all your pictures this morning and I must say, that was one huge picture update! Nice!

Glad that you and the boys got back for round 2. I am not so sure about that butterbeer though. It looks like something that would initially go down too easy and then suddenly become overwhelming. I wonder how many calories are in one glass of that.

:thumbsup2 to getting a breakfast reservation. YUM!

Last day????? I can't believe it.

Great update. Harry Potter looks awesome. My son and I are big fans of Potter but I don't think I will be able to get Grandma to go. We are waiting for our next trip so she can go. (Hopefully this trip will go better than the last one.:rolleyes1)

Love all the detailed pics and descriptions! It sure seems like you had a lot more elbow room, and how nice to have that so you could explore without feeling like you were in a herd! Score on the unexpected trip to the three broomsticks !!! Cool! Looks really neat and great theming all over it seems! I can't wait to see it in person one day! :thumbsup2

Great teeshirt of Dobby it is cute! And I would love to spend some time in that toy shop!!! :rotfl:

Fun update, can't wait to here how the rest of the day went!!

Cynthia- GREAT photos and descriptions of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade! Makes me feel like I was there just yesterday! Well, maybe not yesterday but a couple of days ago. :)

WWoHP opened at 7am every day last week. It was wickedly crowded- we couldn't even move in Honeydukes and didn't attempt Zonkos. I wish we had more time to spend in the shops.

We did eat lunch at 3 Broomsticks- what a great place! I didn't know about the house elf and owl shadows though. We agree with you about the Butterbeer. On tap is ok, but frozen is the way to go! We tried the pumpkin juice and enjoyed that too (better on tap at the restaurant than in the bottle)

I am totallyn stealing your photo of the Sirius Black wanted poster! One thing I found that when things were bright, there were lots of reflections in the poster and in all of the shop windows.

My oldest son got a chocolate frog. I don't know how it was because he didn't share with us. He did share with a friend when we got home. And it is not about the chocolate, it is about the Famous Wizard Card that comes with it!!! We got Helga Hufflepuff.

Thanks again for a fantastic update!

So sad that it is your last day :sad1:

Hey guys I'm here!

Sorry I've been MIA. We were in Denver for Sandie's 70th birthday, I'm back for 3 days and then off to Whistler for a combo work conference and vacation but will respond to everyone later tonight!

:goodvibes

WWOHP sounds amazing. I have few points of reference, though, having never read the books and only seen bits and pieces of the movies themselves. Looks like Universal did a really nice job, though. What a great morning you had! :goodvibes Looks like you're wrapping up the trip on a positive note.
they really did to a wonderful job and it was a GREAT morning, we had a blast!

I also wanted to say, and I thought I had already done so, that the new posters are fantastic! I love graphics for that time period and those are really cool. :thumbsup2 What a great reminder of your trip!

thanks! They make me smile when I see them

Great update!
It's amazing that WWoHP is so empty!
I love the Dobby shirt.
Can't wait to visit next month!

I love that Dobby shirt too. It was SO nice without all those crowds

Cynthia, what AWESOME updates. Since we'll probably never get to see this in person, your pictures are much appreciated and what detail and great photos!

Your breakfast(s) look great...what a fun restaurant.

Thanks!!! Never say never!!! It was a really fun breakfast.

Awesome pix of Three Broomsticks !!!It is soooooo on my list for next year and I can't wait for that English breakfast , I LOVE black pudding , fried tomatoes ooh I am drooling !!!!!

I really enjoyed my breakfast.

I didn't even think of that with the timing! It's taken me so long to get here it's nuts but I WILL finish this before we hit the one year mark. I swear!

How nice that you were able to enjoy the area without all those crazy crowds! The frozen Butterbeer sounds great -- yum, yum, yum!

It was like being in a different place, just beyond enchanting with such low crowds. That butterbeer was YUM but VERY rich. Which is weird in a frozen drink!

YSo, you can buy brooms, too? I had no idea there was so much HP merchandise. Connor would be in serious heaven. Me too, most likely.

I only got one thing, you'll laugh when you see what it is. I wish I'd gotten more of them. There was a lot of stuff but nothing that grabbed me that I'd wear. All the kids got a tee (except Taylor) and then of course Eric got his wand..

Yeay for riding everything and SCORE on breakfast at the Three Broomsticks! Laughed over your comment about not having any Floo Powder.

Wonderful update, Cynthia! I really enjoyed reading this one!

It was such a wonderful surprise, just really made the morning that much "more". Oh we had fun in there!

I'd love floo powder in real life. :rotfl:

I can't wait to see the movie, maybe this weekend! Frozen was much better. I'm glad you guys had fun there!

nah, should have went for it.
:thumbsup2

:rotfl: no can do on an empty stomach my friend. Bloody Mary's...Mimosas...Bellini's....but not Beer.

What and awesome (and huge) update! It really looks amazing.

I can't believe you're on your last day.

Only (almost) one year later! :rotfl: It was amazing.

I missed your last update - crazy week - so we're both back together. I'm not a HP fan,(I had to google the Quaffle) but I have to say that the atmosphere at WOHP looks pretty amazing! I'm glad you had so much fun there!

We had a blast! LOL on the Quaffle

whats a bellini:confused3

proseco (italian sparkling wine) and peach nectar. Similar to a mimosa but lighter and even more delicious

What's even more interesting is did Dan spell it right????:confused3:rotfl2:

:rotfl:

i just copied what she typed above.

which doesn't mean it's right (though in this case I'm pretty sure it is)

It took a while, but I am finally caught back up. Great updates Cynthia!

Love all the IOA info.
