I know this subject has been raised many times and we have all had a moan about the ridiculous price of transport to and from an Epcot DP, but I would like to raise the matter again as I am working on reducing costs and this is a significant expense. If anybody is kind enough to answer the following questions, I would be grateful!!

I know that sometimes DFTW will allow guests to assemble at IG and be guided through to the DP location. How much is the guide hire fee? I had heard that they will not allow you to do this for Morrocco DPs as the site is 'too far in' to allow this. Is this true?

Did you feel obliged to provide transport back to resorts for your guests? If so did you explore the cost of ordering private taxis from a neighbouring resort (eg Boardwalk) and does anybody know the approx. cost of a taxi from Boardwalk to AKL and Boardwalk to BLT

Thanks for any help/input you can give

When I was planning on having my Epcot DP on my wedding day, at Morocco, they were firm on having to use transportation. However, you can use vans, which are $25 each, one way.

We are now using Morocco for our welcome party, so we are not providing round trip transportation. However, we do have 2 vans to take everyone back to their hotel (they are all going to Pop) and DF and I will walk back to Beach Club. The total cost for 2 vans is $50. I really think that transportation should be provided at least to get home for the guests.

Our wedding was in November 2008 so I am not sure what the rules are now but we had 50 people at our wedding, reception and DP. Our reception was over at 3:00pm and we had our chartered bus take everone back to their resorts (they had picked them up around 8:00am for our 9:00am ceremony.

Anyway, our guests were staying at two resorts (POFQ and The Boardwalk). We told the people staying at POFQ (40) to meet at Guest Services outside of Epcot at 7:45 (gave them extra time). They were all walked in the UK Lower with a guide ($50.00 for the guide). The people staying at The Boardwalk (10) were told to meet at 8:00 at the International Gateway. My DH and I were part of that group and yes I had my dress on. We were walked in with our guide ($50).

You need to pay for one guide anyway so basically we paid an extra $50 for the extra guide and did not pay for the DP transportation. When the party was over everyone just walked out whichever way they came in and took Disney transportation back to where they were coming from - or those at The Boardwalk just walked back there.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Linda
