I have 3 different reservations on hold and I need to make a decision by 9am tomorrow morning.Attending the trip will be myself (47 year old female (did I just say that???)) and my 16 year old DD. We have been to Disney numerous times but have never stayed onsite. We decided to take a girls only vacation to celebrate her 16th birthday before the start of her junior year in HS. We live in Westchester County NY so the air included in the quotes below are from Laguardia Airport. Rates from Westchester County Airport were just too steep (adding around $400 to the total price). I am a nurse by trade. My facility is expecting a state survey within the next month. There is always a possibility that the survey could be delayed so trip insurance is necessary in case I need to cancel for this reason. I am the nurse manager of a 50 bed psych.unit and HAVE to be present for the survey!

Here are the three situations, please give me some opinions......

Option 1:

Total cost is $2089

Air from LGA
6 night/7 days at CBR
Transfers to and from airport
6 day Parkhopper passes
Trip Insurance (cancel for any reason up to the date of travel)

Option 2:

Total cost is 2389

All of the above plus the Disney Dining Plan
1 table service, 1 counter service 1 snack per day
Photo Book

Option 3:

Total cost is 2729

All of the above plus the Deluxe Dining Plan
3 full meals a day with appetizer, drink and dessert
Refillable mug at resort

Any and all opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance :)

The best thing to do is figure out how you want to eat and where.

The how is: How many times a day do you want a TS meal? Or a CS meal. How many times a day do you think you will be eating?

Then figure out where you would like to eat based on those answers. Pick the restaurants. Then look at the menus to see prices, add up a days worth of meals (make sure to include beverages and any desserts you will have) for each of you. Add each day together for a grand total. You will then see which plan is better for you.

If you don't have time to do that. You can figure this way:

Do you eat 1sit down meal and day and the other "on the run"? If so the DDP is best.
If you want 2 or more sit down meals a day or 2-3 signatures, then the deluxe plan is best.

But to be really honest the first way to figure is the best.

Thanks for the reply. I decided to go with the regular dining plan. 3 sit down meals a day would be overkill for us. With the money we save we can always pick up another snack during the day if we get hungry. Already booked my 6 table service meals and we are happy with the choices. :)

I def pick option number 2...I think option 3 is WAY too much food IMO....I can't see spending that much of our vacation eating LOL The dining plan is awesome IMO. We LOVE not having to worry about food costs once in disney...when we are hungry we eat. I make all our ressies way in advance and we all look forward to having our fave dinners. MY dd is 16 as well and she loves being able to order whatever she wants and not worry about the price. This year she is bringing a friend and can't wait to impress her with all dinners :)
