DP Child TS - can we forgo and entree?

In most of the TS restaurants, my child and I will probably share my adult TS meal (my 6 yr old is OK with macaroni and chicken nuggets, but she usually prefers adult fare). That said, I would still want to use the child TS credit for a child drink, dessert, and perhaps the child "appetizer."

Has anyone ever used a child TS credit and asked that they NOT deliver an entree? (I just don't like the idea of wasting food, and I also don't like the idea of overeating in August, when we'll be visiting.) I remember having a problem at a CS when I last went - they said they were not allowed to ring it up under the DP unless we got an entree (thankfully some other visitors in the CS were happy to get a free sandwich, so it didn't go to waste - but I don't think that approach would be quite as feasible in a TS restaurant).

TIA!

I don't see why not. At TS restaurants we have done that with the adult portion of the meal. There are some times when we are on dxdp that I would have a drink, app, and dessert without a problem. I don't think it hurts to ask. The bottom line is it helps there profit margin too.

Thanks! Glad to hear you were able to do it with a TS adult credit! (We were pretty floored that the CS wouldn't let us do it, but perhaps they have less leeway than the TS restaurants).

I think it will depend on the restaurant and the server.

But a heads up the child's appetizer is just stuff like veggie sticks or fruit slices.

It isn't a smaller appy.

Most of the kids TS meals are good. You can get the fish of the day, chicken, pizza, etc. You can usually change things around a bit so if she prefers mashed potatos with fish-they would allow it as long as it's served with one of the other kids meal dishes.

I shared CS meals with my niece, but at TS we each got our own. She was happy with her choices.

It's not so much about liking or not liking, it's more about trying not to gain 20 pounds! :scared1: We're small people, and if we're eating out every day, I was just hoping to minimize the amount of food on the table at dinner (and I would *much* rather waste calories on dessert than on entrees :cloud9:, at least while at Disney! :))
