I just bought one of these to use in the washers at our apartment. Anyone use them and had any luck with them? :confused3

Is that the thing that you fill and drop in and it falls and opens before the rinse cycle? I used to use one and most of the time it's fine but be sure to check it after each load to be sure it opened before the rinse cycle and not after it. I dried Downy on a couple of loads of clothes and it doesn't come out.

I have bought at least 10 over the years...Each and every one had a problem, either it opened too soon, too late, etc.. I do use it when I am busy, as my laundry room is downstairs, but I do NOT find it reliable.:)

Good advice, and good to know!

I figured as much. It does seem too good to be true! :rotfl: I've seen a few of them in the cubbies near our washers, so obviously people here use them, but nobody is ever around to ask!

I love mine. It's probably opening at the wrong time, but I don't notice a difference from when I add it myself.

They have been around for a while now. I have used them off and on. I always end up just using a dryer sheet! :)

I used one in college and never had any trouble with it. That has been a long time ago- I graduated in 1995 :scared1: but it worked well for me then.

I've just started using "Dryer Balls"
Ever heard of them?

It uses no chemicals & reusable. They are around $10 for 2, but they apparently last for years and you no longer need to buy fabric softeners. A couple of my friends use them so I thought I'd give 'em a try. I got them at Walgreens.

So far the clothes come out soft and I think it takes a little less time to get them dry. But some of my more clingy fabric have static. Works great on jeans and towels though.

Anyone else use them?

No, but I will be on the lookout for those. Great tip, thanks:goodvibes

We use one when we're on vacation since the hotel laundry never has a fabric softener slot. It's okay but I have just as much luck if not better by adding my own fabric softener after the water goes in for the rinse cycle. I like to put it in when there's water in there to avoid the possibility of blue spots on the clothes.
