Downtown is getting a new Sandwich shop

Is the Gourmet Pantry on the west side. I think we went there once for some candy but not real sure. I will make it a point to eat there this trip.

Oh no! The cookies from Gourmet Pantry are my favorite treat at WDW! I hope they continue to sell these at the new sandwich shop.

The Gourmet Pantry is in the Marketplace section, very close to where the large interactive fountain and Once Upon A Toy are.

To everyone, received a response to my email concerning the Gourmet Pantry saying someone will be in contact with me in a couple of weeks.

Does anyone know when this is scheduled to close?????

We were planning on trying this out tonight...I will ask and see if they know of any closing/opening dates and update later...

It sounds really good, dh wanted something other than Wolfgang's or McDonald's and really didn't want to spend a fortune on it...can't wait to eat there!

UPDATE: Talked to a CM while we were there and they are scheduled to close June 22 (or was it the 29th?, shoot, now I can't remember for sure, but it is this month). She was very upset about it (which is why I didn't ask about when the new shop would open) and close to tears. Turns out that the majority of the CM's won't be able to work there, since the new shop uses fewer CM's to run the new store.

We tried a type of italian sandwich that was pretty decent, but I'll be trying the new store/shop as well next time we go. It was really nice though, I felt so bad for her.
