My brother is considering going to one of the hotels across the street from Downtown Disney. He has a large family, 5 kids , and will need to clean clothing at least once. My question to the Dis'ers here is which of these 5 hotels have laundry centers on site that he and the wife can go to wash/dry the clothing for the family.

We are a family of 5 that will be staying at Cypress Point Resort by Downtown Disney. They have 1, 2 & 3 bedroom villas with full kitchens, washer/dryer, balcony, 2 bathrooms, etc. The reviews we've found have been great. We booked it at Hotelkingdom for under $100/night (2 bedroom).

I don't believe they offer shuttle service, so they will need a vehicle.

Cypress Pointe is great for large families! The washer and dryer are right in your room, so you can throw in a load of wash at any time! It's 5 minutes from DTD and has lots of space - full kitchen (big money saver), 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room, etc. We are staying there in Feb and I got the 2-bedroom for $93/night on hotelkingdom. My in-laws own there and we've stayed there many times.

Kilee, he has not yet made the decision where to stay, other then at one of the 5 hotels across from DTD, His plan is to stay at whatever hotel has the laundry service. He asked me to put out the question here since he knows I am a DIS'er

all should have laundry mats.

however if might be better off staying at Cypress Pointe. Now if he picked DD because he needs their transportation then I would stay at WDW.

he can stay in SSR for $250 per night (sun-thurs) first week of june or two week of august - in a 1-bedroom. renting from a DVC member.

or OKW (a little further away but still walking distance to DD) - for $200 per night (sun-thurs) again a 1-bedroom.

a 1-bedroom has a king bed in the bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom. OKW also has a love seat for a small child.

CRO allows 5 people in 1-bedroom.

at a value resort he would need 2 rooms, at all the moderates except for POR he would need 2 rooms. at POR there is a trundle bed - but lately they have not allowed famlies to book it unless they have a child under 9 years of age...

Disney Magical Express will take his family back and forth from the airport for free.

now if he will have a car - Cypress Pointe is the way to go....

If he was planning on going to DD and use the Disney buses. the Disney buses at DD no longer go to the parks. they only go to a WDW resort, then they would need to catch another bus to get to the parks - I would say around 90 minutes time in all...Not worth it my opinion....

these hotels, except for the Hilton, did not participate in the EMH - Extra Magical hours at WDW. you get an hour in the morning and 3 hours at night - after the park opens/closes - for only WDW resort guests.... a GREAT benefit!!!

if he still wants one of them
