Downtown Disney

This board has already been such a great help to me. I thank you all in advance for your expert knowledge!

We are a group of 12 Grandma, Grandpa six adults in their 30's and 4 toddlers 1-2 years old. We have to go to downtown Disney guest relations to exchange our Florida resident certificates the night we arrive. My question - is there enough to do there with the little ones to be worth going into Downtown Disney and what time do they close at night. (It will be Friday night March 4 if that matters.) Also, how much does it cost to get in?

Don't confuse the two...although they are located next to each other. Downtown Disney is the shopping area. It is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! The toddlers (and adults) will especially love the big emporium and the lego store. My kids really like the pooh store too. There is a Christmas store that's really neat as well. You can grab a bite to eat at a nice restaurant...or McD's...or a terrific sundae at Ghiradelli Square!!!! We always try to make room for a few hours at Downtown Disney on each trip. It is a real experience. There are even water fountains for the kids to play in, and little playareas too. I'm sure allears.net must have a link listing all the shops at Downtown Disney for you to peruse before going.

Pleasure Island is an evening hot spot w/ multiple clubs. You pay admission to get on the island and it allows you to hop between the clubs. Lots of twenty-somethings go there...and older!

Then there is Disney Quest, another paid admission HUGE arcade like building.

Thank you. Downtown Disney sounds great for our first night! Do yiu know how late it is open on a Friday night in March?

My guess on a Friday night they will be open until 11 or 12 midnight. I was there in Dec. and the Lego store was closed for referbishing. Even with it closed Downtown is a great part of each visit.
