Downtown Disney

Has anyone been to Downtown Disney recently? My family and I are going to WDW in a few days and usually shop at Downtown Disney at some point in our trip. Is it chaotic with all the renovations? Is it hard to maneuver with a stroller? Thanks.

not chaotic or hard to maneuver, the only thing that I can tell you is try to go earlier in the day, preferably before 5pm to avoid the heaviest traffic.

We were there twice about two weeks ago. It wasn't chaotic and you couldn't really "feel" the construction, except when you were walking on the path between the new Boathouse restaurant until right before you get to the balloon. That path is blocked off on the sides by construction walls in that area, but still doesn't feel too crazy. We had a double stroller and no problems maneuvering it. The first time we were there in the evening (around 6pm) and the second time we were there around 12pm in the afternoon. The second time was noticeably more crowded, which really surprised me.

And P.S. that new parking garage is amazing! It has signs on each level that let you know if the level is full or how many spots are left, and green lights on the ceiling that show you exactly where the open spots are. I had to park in a regular parking garage at home yesterday and oh how I was missing the DTD one lol!

You will be fine and have no issues getting around with a stroller. We were there last night for dinner and it was crowded, yes. However, there was more than enough room for everyone. Loads of construction still going on, though if you get there as others have said before 5:00, it will be even easier.

My preferred route to DTD is to catch a POR bus at a Park and take the Sassagoula River Cruise to DTD!

It exceptionally fun at Sunset arriving at DTD just as it is starting to light up for the night!
