was thinking of doing dtd on our rest day. do you think the boys would have fun - or is it mostly shopping.

Are the waits long for Wolfgang pucks?? looks good can use on dining plan, but no ADR??

I don't think there is enough for two little boys to spend the whole day, it is all shopping. How much do you want to spend on legos? I'm sure they will make a bee-line for there and there are no bargains. My 5 yr old son was bored after the lego store and we were only there a bit before lunch. there were some fun fountains in the ground they can run thru if it is warm enough.

I always take my kids. They do love to play at the Lego Store and eat at Rainforest Cafe, but they enjoy the stores too! Even when they don't have money to spend, they like to go through the stores. The toy stores are fun, with hands on Mr. Potato Heads to put together, play with and Disney hopes you'll buy. There is a Mr. Potato Head game you can play there (free), making a computerized potato head, dress him/her and then print it out to keep. There are a few small rides like a train and merry go round, but they are not free and may be too small for your kids.
I think you'll enjoy it. My children, 13, 10 and 2 have been going there since they were wee ones. We always find it enjoyable!

I might be in the minority here, but I don't find much to like about DTD. It's mostly shopping which my kids will do for just a short time. It's OK if you want to go on your first night or something without wasting a park ticket on a half day, but my kids would much prefer to hang out by the pool than go to a store (even if it is Disney stuff!). My boys will be 7 and 9 when we go in July, and I have no plans to go over there at all on this trip.

Definetly YES. Lego Land, Once upon a Toy, the fountains.. they will just LOVE it all!

Eats : Rainforest Cafe. you have to call the restaurant directly for ADRs there.

HAVE FUN

Along with the Lego Store they now also have The Adventure Room which has shopping and video games for them to play. Here is the link:

I am not sure about a whole day, but on our rest day we usually spend time at the pool and then rest and then head over to DTD for an enjoyable late afternoon/evening there.

Wolfgang Puck's Cafe does have ADR's. Have mine set for June. Have boys the same age as yours and we are planning on checking out the Magic Store, Lego Store, World of Disney. We are going in the evening, so whenever they are to tired to do DTD then it's time to head back to the resort. :cool1: ;)

Yes but not the whole day. Personally I would sleep in - get some breakfast and hit your hotel pool for a few hours. Once the pool starts packing it in with park people taking their breaks, head back for showers and maybe even a nap and then head out to Wolfgang (yummy!) for an early dinner before it gets crowded. Go to Legoland, the huge Disneystore, maybe even Disney Quest, stop and get some ice cream and either go to a movie there or head back to the pool for another swim or arcade time!!!

Just my 2 cents...

A half day there would be perfect. I'd hit the Lego store, Once Upon a Toy, and Goofy's Candy Company for sure! If your boys are enjoying their visit, you can stay longer. If they've had enough shopping, maybe you could spend the other half of the day swimming at your resort?

It's definitely worth going for a few hours. We always let the kids buy their souvenirs at the World of Disney store. We usually go in the evening on our first night.

I agree with PP's. Half a day, or even a couple of hours over lunch would be great!

We always have our boys earn Disney Dollars for months before the trip, and they know that this is the ONLY money that they can spend however they want. And I do mean however they want! The 1st year was a lot of candy, but they've gotten very smart and thrifty. They love to shop @ DTD and see the sights.

Definitely hit the lego store, there is also a playground outside of Lego. We also go to World of Disney, Once upon a toy, pin trader and rainforest. Now with the new Pirate Room for boys (link provided by PP..thanks!!) I think they will like it even more.

Personally, I LOVE DTD and I like to spend alone time there. So DH & DS's usually will have an afternoon at the resort pool & arcade while mommy gets her fill. Have a great time, we all love DTD..don't miss the Candy Cauldron! :stir:
