Downtown Disney Shopping Question

We will have a free day during our upcoming trip, and I was wondering how shopping in Downtown Disney compares with shopping in the parks. I hate the thought of wasting valuable park time souvenir hunting.

You will be able to find all of the souvenirs you could hope for...and MORE There are a wide variety of shops in DTD from Character Merchandise to Kitchen collections to Gardening. The World of Disney is the absolute best place on Disney Property to shop IMHO. If you can't find it there they don't have it in WDW Be aware that there are several large rooms in The World of Disney and it is easy to get separated and hard to find eachother...so stick together

As the other poster mentioned, you can find everything that is sold in the parks, in DD - and then some! However, if you have a free day, you might also want to tour some of the resorts and the resort gift shops. Animal Kingdom has some very unique items in their gift shop. I always find something there that I want, that is not sold elsewhere on WDW property! A trip around the monorail resorts is fun too - make a PS for breakfast, lunch or dinner, tour the resort and visit the shops too.

To me DTD is like an attraction there is a lot to see and do.Some of the stores have amazing displays.

DTD also has a little show area. We watched a children's song & dance show that was really very cute! The shopping is great, the place is beautiful, the food is good. You can even take in a movie if you want. If you have the day or 1/2 day, it is a nice place to do something different, yet still Disney.

My kids also enjoy legoland in DTD. They could spend hours in there. I hear it's been redone. Have not seen it yet.
