I have been stressing over my ADRs for my trip in January. I have everything booked, tentatively at the moment - Jiko, Teppan Edo, Tokyo Dining, California Grill, Les Chefs and Wolfgang Puck Cafe.... I have been trying to get into Le Cellier for months, but that doesn't seem to be happening!

Anyways, I wanted an idea for a Downtown Disney restaurant. It is going to be a shorter trip and I wanted to be Downtown once during the night. It's just me and my DBF, and he has a very limited palate to say the least. He doesn't like seafood or ethnic flavors, except for sushi....Right now I have a ressie for Wolfgang Puck Cafe, but I've never been there, and haven't heard much about it.... I know Fultons and Portobellos are delicious, but DBF already said no thanks to those...any positive feedback on Wolfgang Puck Cafe, or other ideas for restaurants I may be overlooking?!!

Thank you so much!! I love planning but the ADRs this late are so stressful!!

Love Wolfgang Cafe. Been a few times and have plans to eat there again after xmas. Something different and refreshing.

Try it

Ragland Road was our favorite during our trip last year...it was a pleasant surprise...great service and the salmon was GREAT!! We all really enjoyed it!:thumbsup2

Sorry to be a bubble burster, but HATED Wolfgang Puck Cafe. I mean HATED!!!!!!!!

WIll never ever eat there again. Totally nothing special, horrible portions, mediocre service, and outrageously expensive for what you get. Sushi was average......at best.

You would be much better served by eating at Wolfgang Puck express. Totally opposite end of the spectrum. Amazing portions, amazing service, and by far the best Counter Service of the trip. Is now a must do for us every year and has become our "let's go to DTD while we wait on our room to be ready" meal on our first day.

Suggestion: Grab the boat from DTD to Saratoga Springs or Old Key West and eat there. Have never been to Saratoga for food, but Olivia's at Old Key West is quite good, and good atmosphere as well. It's not EXTRAORDINARY, but very good and great service!

Also would give you an opportunity to take the boat and see a couple of resorts. From DTD to OKW is about a 25 minute ride and very nice.

Have a great time!

Ah, haha I was afraid that it may not be too good, especially with the rave reviews of the express. I suppose we may as well go there instead, why waste money on something mediocre? That's a great tip, I love Olivia's, but since I'm not staying at OKW this year I didn't even think to take the boat over! Great idea!

Another vote for Raglan Road. DH and I dined here in 2008 and really enjoyed it. The service, food and atmosphere were great.

We did Paradisio 37 this year and it was fabulous. SSR has a nice menu, but very limited; we found Olivia's to be much better and more variety.

I also love RFC, but we tried T-Rex this time and it was very good! We were very disappointed at Raglan Road, but it may have been the time we had our ressies. It was packed, service was very slow, and our food was less than desirable. No musicians or clog dancing - we did the bar a few evenings before, with appetizers and had a pair of musicians and the clog dancer - and we had absolutely loved it!

Even though it's not a table service restaurant, I would highly recommend Earl of Sandwich.

I would second this suggestion.

I would also recommend T-Rex cafe. Although it can be quite noisy there, if you are going in January after all the holiday rush, it might not be so bad. Also the food there is very diverse (think like TGI Fridays) and I'm sure there will be something on the menu he can eat. If you can live through the noise and the meteor showers, the food is actually quite good. I've had everything from burgers to lasagne there and loved it all. The portions have always been hearty and the food has been good enough to bring us back even though we really eat at this location primarily due to our son's fascination with dinosaurs.

Are you on the dining plan? if so, you have only four choices: Raglan Road, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Planet Hollywood and Cap'n Jack's. I cannot speak to Planet Hollywood or Cap'n Jack's as I have never gone inside Planet Hollywood and was last at Jack's in 1995 to buy a margarita. I like Raglan Road and WPC - but have had a number of service issues at both. I no longer eat at a table at Raglan Road - just the bar. WPC has good sushi (I'd call it good and not average, and, by the way, it's only available as an entree on the dining plan) but the service on all my recent visits has been on the downside.

I've eaten at Earl of Sandwich lots and Wolfgang Puck Express several times. Last week we ate at House of Blues for the first time and had a water-side table. I had the shrimp poorboy and it was very good. It is now my favorite DTD restaurant. I don't normally venture down to that end of DTD; but, you can more easily find a parking spot in parking lot 4 right near House of Blues then take the boat to the shopping area.

Even though it's not a table service restaurant, I would highly recommend Earl of Sandwich.

Loved Earl of Sandwich as well! Great food and less expensive than most other dining options at DTD. When you're done, try Ghiradelli for dessert... sounds like a plan to me!
:thumbsup2

PS: I know alot of people on these board would disagree, but don't stress about Le Cellier. We were very disappointed (sorry).

Bongo's is good if you like Cuban food. Rainforest Cafe, Planet Holleywood and T-Rex are very nice to walk thru but the food is not very good at all.

ooooooh, speaking of the House of Blues.....

Just found out about the Sunday Gospel Brunch and we are adding that to our agenda. VERY EXCITED :thumbsup2
