Hello wonderful people of DIS Boards,

My family and I just booked a room at the Double Tree Suites in LBV. I was wondering if anyone had experience with the hotel and what were your thoughts. I was also wondering if anyone had experience with the DTD resorts bus system and is it timely and efficient (obviously not as good as disney buses but will it get us to the parks for rope drop)? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We decided to come a day early one year so booked the Doubletree for the extra night before our WDW pkg started. I booked with a great promo code from Mousesavers.com which included breakfast
The 1 bdrm suites were very large, and had a nice dining area with round table & chairs and a bar area with fridge, microwave, sink & cabinets.
I've heard they've recrntly refurbed all rooms, so their prob even nicer now.
The bus service runs continually every 30 min. I had a car, but it seemed like bus service was pretty good.
Toiletries were Crabtree & Evelyn, very nice.

We stayed at the dtd hilton for four nights a few years ago. The bus system is o.k. Be prepared to stop at the ttc not the mk. At the other parks, you walk past the pop bus stop way out in the parking lot and look for circles to stand on and wait for the dtd buses. I am not joking. We did a lot of bus hopping. Meaning we left a park say the mk, headed over to the wl or cr or poly (which ever boat came first) and from that resort hopped on the dtd bus and walked back to our hotel. We mostly used the dtd bus service to get to the parks...they leave every .5 hour but we always seemed to miss them heading back from the parks.

kapoof, we did the same thing when we stayed at the Hilton. All the hotels on the one side of Hotel Plaza Blvd share the same bus (Hilton, HI, B and Doubletree).

The bus stop at EC is in the middle of the taxi lot and in August with no shade and a long wait. We jumped on OKW bus, as it came faster. Many times the DTD buses were just really full. They usually do two parks for example MK and HS.

We are returning to the Hilton in Sept for a conference and some free time at Disney. Hoping all the construction and congestion is complete by then.

When we stayed at Buena Vista Palace, we walked across the street to DTD and took a Disney bus to whichever deluxe was adjacent to whatever park we were going to that day-first come first got on. I.e. GF, Poly or CR for MK and YC/BC, BWI for EC/DHS. A couple of times when leaving the park we took the SSR bus back and had a slightly longer walk across the street -- in either situation it was probably a half hour less in total.
