Downtown Disney Question

We will be passing through Orlando and I would like to shop at The Marketplace. Does this require tickets to the parks? Can you just park your car and shop and eat there?
I wasn't sure what board to post this on.

Parking is free (except for valet). No admission to Marketplace or Downtown Disney. Pleasure Island charges an admission at night (clubs).
