I remember reading a few months back that at a certain Disney store downtown that if you spent 75 dollars you would get a poster. I think if I remember right you had to ask for it. Is this still available and at what store and how do you get one? Thanks

There was one in the World of Disney when we were there. I was if you spent $75 you could buy one for $5 more. They were very rare. It was called "A Party in the Kingdom" and it had all of the Disney Characters (well almost) infront of the castle. :)

There was also a lithograph when we were down in Feb 2005, it has the words "a magic time in a magic place" and has the momorail coming through the centre with the characters on board, and siloettes in the background of the different parks. I don't know if that is the same one you were talking about Stephanie. All the different characters are scattered around the front. It is hanging on our wall! It was 'free' with $75 purchase (not a problem at the time ;). I did see one on ebay though a few days ago...

It is still available. You must spend $75 and you can buy it for $5. When they first started this promotion, if you spent $75, you got one for free. Since I did a great deal of shopping at World Of Disney, I got about 12 of them over a period of time. I kept one for myself. As I got others, I'd walk around DTD until I saw some folks that looked approachable. I'd offer them the poster. I was never turned down! I don't get them anymore now that I'd have to pay for them, but it was fun while it lasted!

Just got back about a week ago. We did get a wonderful lithograph in DTD($5.00 with a purchase of $75 or more) Anxious to get it framed!

Did you have to ask at the register to get this or is it on display somewhere in the store. Thanks everyone.

Most of the CMs ask you if you want it if your total comes to $75 or more. If they don't ask, you should ask them. They usually have a copy framed behind the counter so you can see it.

we got one free when we bought $75 or more worth of stuff from the World of Disney store in DTD. It was loads of fun carrying it onto the plane trying not to bend it. Here are a couple of pics of the litho hanging in our room.

There some interesting thing about that lithograph too...

#1 there's a hidden mickey somewhere in there :rolleyes1
#2 all of the characters in the picture "signed" the picture except 1 :confused3

I'm not sure if I could rack up $75 dollars there. Do you know if they sell Pal Mickey at that store, or is he only in the parks? That would go a long way to hitting the $75 mark.

Do the posters come in a cardboard tube so that it doesn't get bent/crushed? If not, does anyone know it's size (top to bottom) so I can pack a tube to put it in?

Thanks!

When we were there they didn't put them in tubes, rather flat carboard envelopes. If you wanted to take a tube... I think it was around 14x16 ish...

The CM layed ours down on some very thick cardboard, carefully rolled it up and taped it. We were then able to put it in our suitcase and it was still in perfect condition. We d tie it up with a shoelace, too, just to be sure. ;)

I was told to buy my Pal Mickey at the World of Disney store as I could get a %10 discount with either the annual pass or the Disney Visa. Since my party of 5 is going to buy two of them, I figured this was a great idea. :earseek:

vascubaguy & jrjac,

Thank you for the replies. I'm glad they provide something to prevent the poster from getting bent/crushed. Looks like one less thing to have to pack. (at least on the way down) :cool1:

and 2 characters have the same name!
they put ours in a tube for us. good thing too. we have not had it framed yet. vaccubaguy yours looks great in a frame. that has now motivated me to get mine framed.

We got one in the spring that was different -- characters with castle and monorail. Not too tough getting it home -- just had to be careful.

Its now framed and hanging in the kid's playroom.

Now looking forward to adding this one as well during our next trip in October.

Thanks for sharing the picture!
