Downtown Disney parking and other ?

Hey to everyone....This will be our first time staying at Universal and not disney but to try to lessen the blow of it we have decided that when we fly in our flight lands at 930am. We are getting a car rental for that first day and plan to drive from the airport directly to Downtown disney for some shopping and food.
Is parking free at downtown disney?
Is it hard to find our way from the airport to downtown disney?.....should we print a mapquest copy from the computer or use a gps or suggestions?

We were also considering getting an early dinner at Kona that day....can we drive there and park or can we take a bus there from downtown disney?

Free parking at DTD

You can also park free at the Poly. Just let them know you're there for dinner.

o.k thanks for moving me.....don't know what I was thinking posting on the theme park spot.
Thanks for the info on the parking....I wasn't sure about if we could park at the poly or not.

It's EASY to get to Downtown Disney - no mapquest or GPS needed.

Take the north exit out of the airport to Route 528/Beachline West. Follow that to its end, where it'll curve around on a long, easy ramp to the left and bring you onto I-4 West. Follow the signs to Walt Disney World! Okay, you might want to find in advance which exit, exactly, to take - but I think it's Route 536, bear right at the bottom of the ramp then immediately but carefully get over to the far left lane. Turn left onto Hotel Plaza Boulevard. Downtown Disney is at the opposite end of this road.

If you're not comfortable cutting across several lanes of traffic , stay to the far right and turn right, into the Crossroads Shopping Center. Turn around so you're facing the street you just left; when the light turns red, go straight across to Hotel Plaza Boulevard.

It's actually Route 535 which is exit 68 on Interstate 4.
