our first night we always take the boat from Port Orleans to DTD. You are relaxed, in the magic and ready to go the next day! And at World of Disney you can look for something to buy (or postcards maybe) outside of the craziness of some park stores
This is funny because I'm going to say Downtown Disney. I don't even particularly like Downtown Disney, and I always stay around the Boardwalk because I love that area, however, there is a lot more to do at Downtown Disney.
DTD has a Lego store. They usually have a display out front where kids can build a car and then race them down a ramp...my kids really had unexpected fun with this (at about that age).
