So is this crazy or what?!?! We are three weeks out from our Orlando Trip - we plan to spend Saturday August 15th at downtown Disney. I looked today for lunch reservations and EVERY restaurant is available @ 11:30 or so. Does that mean it's going to be a slow time for Disney?
I'm torn between trying the Boathouse for us adults or going to T-Rex for the kids (we have never been able to get a reservation at T-Rex).

It could mean people are avoiding DTD due to the construction, but could also mean lower crowds. Perhaps people are getting ready for school to start. Just a bit of an FYI for the next time you can't get an ADR through Disney, call T Rex directly. From what I understand, they only allow so many reservations in to the Disney system. We went to T Rex on our last trip for the first time, and loved it! Great food, great atmosphere, but would recommend not sitting in the ice cave. The lighting is pretty harsh on the eyes.

Based on our trips (in November) lunch time, especially that early, DTD is not very crowded. Most guest are probably planning to be at a park (theme or water). The only places we have seen busy were WPE & EOS but even then it wasn't like a Friday or Saturday night. Weather will be a factor on the DTD crowd most likely. We went one Friday of Veteran's day weekend with good weather it was empty, went the same time a few years later with cold weather it was busier. Still nothing like Saturday or Friday night no matter what the weather.

Dtd during the day at that time was not real busy. Around 3-4 pm it was getting packed and by 6-7 we were shoulder to shoulder in the construction areas. We just got home from 12 days at Disney.

Well, my family and I are planning to be there that day too!!! Maybe we will be the only ones there.

Thanks for the info butterfly - do you know how far in advance they will take reservations by phone?

And thanks to everyone else for the responses.

Does anyone know if you have a laundry membership card do you need reservation for T Rex?

joannjoe, I recently called the restaurant to ask this very question because I will be there over Labor Day weekend. They told me, no I don't need a reservation
