Downtown Disney Hotels - Afternoon Break?

Is an afternoon break do-able if we're staying in a DTD hotel? (Specifically, Hotel Royal Plaza) We'll probably want a break at some point, but not if it will take up the whole afternoon. Do the busses take forever to go from park to hotels & vice versa?

The buses run every 30 minutes. I don't think it takes much longer than staying at the All Stars. We just returned from a stay at the Grosvenor and on the days we went to a park in the AM we were able to return for a late afternoon break and head to our evening destination with no problems. We don't tour like others. Our schedule depends on the park hours for the parks we're doing that day. I prefer to go late in the afternoon and stay untill park closing but since I toured with 3 other people we kind of mixed it up. I will admit this was the first trip where I really felt the heat. It felt like it rained all the time and the humidity was terrible. It usually doesn't bother me but this time it wore all of us out. I couldn't spend as much time in the parks as I normally spend.
