Downtown Disney Hotel vs Port Orleans Riverside

We are thinking of switching our reservation to a Downtown disney hotel instead. Mainly because we think it would be easier to get to the theme parks and other areas since Downtown Disney is a transportation hub. Is it easier to get around by staying there or should we just keep our resort reservation?

An off-site hotel? Even if you walked to DTD for busses, there's no direct access to the parks from DTD (you have to stop at an onsite hotel first).

I would definitely stick with POR. DH and I stayed there once and just loved it. We found the transportation to be very efficient and you can take the boat to DTD - a very peaceful and relaxing trip. The pools and grounds at POR are beautiful.

Ok, I thought that perhaps, we could go from DTD direct to the parks, thanks. I see that you've stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside, do you recommend it?

We have stayed at a DTD resort and at Port Orleans R and would highly recommend POR. Transportation was great and it is a very relaxing resort.
