Downtown Disney hotel buses

I'm thinking about booking the Best Western in DTD for our June trip, but I'm wondering about the buses. The main reason I'm considering DTD instead of off property is to avoid the TTC mid-morning madness. Does the bus drop you off there or at the gates? How is the bus service in general?

What bus? Does the hotel have its own bus? That would not go to the MK, as far as I understand. It would likely go to the TTC If you mean a Disney DTD bus, then those buses don't go to the parks at all, only to Disney resorts.

The only way to get to MK without passing thru the TTC is to stay on-site.

This is the correct information.

The hotels in the Downtown Disney Resort Area have its own bus system. The 4 hotels on the east side of Hotel Plaza Bouleward share buses, the same with the 3 hotels on the west side. There are buses going to MK, HS, EP, AK, TL and BB. The buses to the theme park leaves every half hour, and there is return times from each park every half hour until 90 minutes after closing time of the specific park. The buses to the water parks usually leaves twice a day, with return once in the afternoon. Usually you have to share bus with people going to at least one other park. For MK the bus stops at TTC, so you will need to take the Monorail or the Ferry. For the other parks, they will stop very close to the entrance.

I found the system easy to use and it never took long going to or returning from the parks. For less madness at TCC, take the ferry, more standing room and generally higher capacity.

Thank you and I apologize for my misinformation.

How full do these buses get? Are guests permitted to reserve specific buses using sign up sheets? Does the system guarantee return to the hotel in the evening even if extra trips need to be run?

When we stayed at the Hilton DTD, the buses never got full - always ample sitting. There are no sign up sheets as far as I know.

If a bus ever gets full on the return I am sure they will provide you with an extra bus. But email the hotel to be completely sure.

Anyway, BW DTD has an amazing location. You'll be able to walk to not only DTD but also Crossroads, a center with lots of restaurants with affordable prices.

To me, the DTD resorts are actually more convenient than Disney Resorts, given their prices and their perfect location.

I'm happy to hear this since we are staying at the Doubletree Suites DTD next month!
