Downtown Disney Has it Improved

I've never personally been to the Orange location, but a blogger reviewed the location shortly after it relocated from Downtown Disney and noted that while most of the staff was the same, it was now a typical BAB location. Knott's recently opened a location that's suppose to tie into the park's theming, and might be worth checking out.

Thanks that's good to know, we didn't really want a "generic" one so the one at Knotts might be better.

I always go for Sprinkles, Marceline's, Ballast Point, Black Tap and WOD.

I wish there was an In-and-Out Burger in DTD or on Harbor between Ball and Katella. I guess their target market is more locals, but you'd think they do a smashing business with all the tourists. I'd like to eat there, but I'd need to take a Lyft or rent a car just to do so.

The other thing I wish DTD had was more interactive things to do, maybe putt-putt or something that could fill an afternoon or morning out of the parks. A lot of people don't have a rental car or a park ticket, especially on a partial day like arrival or departure day. I guess there's bowling, but alternatives (a movie theater, Build-A-Bear, perhaps :ssst: ) would be nice.

There is the OCTA bus that runs north/south on Harbor -- that stops by the In'N'Out on Harbor in Fullerton (about 10 minutes north of the parks). That stop also is by a Walmart, so you could do a little shopping first, then grab a meal before heading back to the hotel.
There is a movie theater at GardenWalk on Katella -- walking distance from the parks. Build-a-Bear is located in Orange by the outlet stores -- possibly worth taking a ride share to spend a few hours there. And there are movie theaters there, too -- at the Block at Orange. I agree that it would be great if Disney put the AMC back in DTD, but until that happens, at least there are other options not far away.

I really missed rainforest cafe on our last trip. Downtown Disney just didn’t seem as special without it and that end was definitely lacking. I keep hoping it comes back.

Thanks! I might go to the In-and-Out on my last day, when I won't have a park ticket.

I knew there was one on Harbor, but it's hard to tell from Google maps how the area is for a solo female.

I wish the city and Disney could get just their act together and build another Disney hotel. That area really needs a fourth Disney owned property. Disney loves to keep rack rates high on their hotels (at least in California) but with a 4th hotel I think we would see a lot more price breaks throughout the year of 40% off PPH and 30% off DLH, etc.

Downtown Disney is fine for the World of Disney store (which is awesome to walk through) and restaurants for the hotel guests. Anything else is going to eat up a huge amount of land which they just don't have.
