Hi everyone.

Well my fiance and I were originally planning a Downtown Disney reception (and would still like one) on 12/13/14. However, the recent announcement of the Disney Springs concept and construction has me back pedaling. I've contacted a few possible reception locations and they all say the same thing...
"We'll be glad to take your deposit to hold the date, but it is too soon for us to tell!"
I don't exactly feel comfortable handing out any money without a contract and confirmation that that particular location will not be under construction at the time.
Does anyone know if they are going to release more information about construction phases or have any pocket-book friendly alternatives? We are looking at about 80 adults, 20 children; open bar; dinner/dancing, etc and would like to stay under $100 a head.

I was looking at Fulton's for a 12/14 Vow Renewal, but got second thoughts for the exact same reason. I don't think anyone would be willing to give any guarantees regarding Disney Springs construction. There have been so many plans made, then scrapped, then re-made regarding Downtown Disney!

You're right; it is too much money to gamble on unforeseen variables like that. :worried:

Fulton's was actually one of the places we were talking to. They were more than happy to take my deposit but then went quiet when I brought up the construction.

I don't think the Downtown Disney venues are aware that DISbrides are so well informed about the upcoming overhaul of the area! :surfweb: And this isn't going to be a small project -- the construction will be massive.

Fultons seems lovely, but I'm looking elsewhere.

Now, on the OTHER side (of West Side) where construction should not be as obtrusive is House of Blues. That seems like it might be a good alternative. ::yes::
Especially for us since we honeymooned in New Orleans!
