Downtown Disney District

Just wondering if you can get into Downtown Disney District without park entry?
I'd like to do some shopping and eating but won't have time for the parks because I'll be at the D23 expo.

Yes, DtD does not require a park ticket for entry and is open for shopping, dining, and movies for all guests.

You do now go though security checkpoints going into DTD but you do not need park tickets to enter.

Good point. If you will have lots of bags, packages, souvenirs from the Expo, you might want to drop them off at your hotel before going through security for DtD. That will mean much less hassle for you.
