Downtown Disney dining question

We will be staying onsite in August without a car. Family will be driving out from Sarasota to meet us (no parks) on a Saturday. I've been reading that construction has made parking quite difficult. If we take the bus to downtown Disney, is there a restaurant outside/nearby that we could walk to and meet them there?

1. Parking is more diffficult than usual… but not impossible.

2. No need for that. Choose one of the DTD restaurants.

We are staying at AS Music. We met them there a few years ago (they are not Disney park fans). I was concerned because I thought that with the construction work parking would be even worse on the weekends.

It probably will be worse. Here's another idea: have them drive to your resort and park. Then you can all take the bus to DTD.

Parking is going to be a pain for sure.

There are plenty of eateries that are still open that have great food options. Earl of Sandwich, T-Rex, Splitsville and House of Blues.

P.S. Going to be eating at Splitsville for the first time this September...we have reservations. What is the food and service like...thanks.

Here's another idea: have them drive to your resort and park.
Then you can all take the bus to DTD.

Agreed. That was my reason for asking at which resort.

Parking for the arriving local guests will be no problem at one of the "All Stars."

Then, everybody can ride the DTD buses together.
