I really enjoyed my stay at the Downtown Disney Courtyard by Marriott hotel, especially for the $20.03 per night special.

The restaurant, The Courtyard Cafe and Grille, is attached by covered walkway on the left side of the front of the hotel to the single story, spacious restaurant.

The main entrance also has a covered walkway with some benches to wait for the busses.

Conveniently, this is also the Downtown Disney hotels' bus(Greyhound-type) transportation to all the WDW parks.(bus info in my link below my signature).

As you enter the restaurant for breakfast, you will see the host stand and small waiting area. You enter the dining area to the right. (I never went to the left side dininig area, but this might be the grille part.)

They have nice, comfortable, cushion seating across the walls with tables, and other tables in the center with comfortable, wooden chairs. The windows were nicely decorated and had wooden blinds.

You could also see the DtD bus go by and stop in front of the window if you wanted to go ahead and pay for your meal, and wait for the bus inside the restaurant. That way you could just hop up and walk about 30 feet to the bus. Very convenient.

They are open for breakfast from 6:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M.

Although they have a breakfast menu for certain dishes, you can get more variety and the same thing through the breakfast buffet.

The prices are $7.99 for adults; $3.99 for children 3 to 12 years old; and free for children under 3 years old. So just decide if a particular menu item will cost less than the buffet itself and choose accordingly.

They will make eggs to order as fried, boiled, omelettes. They will also make special Mickey waffles and belgium waffles.

I just ate the bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs and water for my Atkin's Diet.

This is what I saw on the buffet tables.

As you enter the restaurant dining rooms, to your immediate left is one buffet table with plates. To the best of my recollection it contained small 8-ounce cartons of whole, 2%, and chocoate milk on beds of ice. Followed with a variety of those single servings of breakfast cereals.

Then you will see trays of cut fruit, such cantelope, honeydew melon, watermelon, and pineapple.

Then four caterer-type, steam, dome servers with appropriate serving spoons or tongs on dishes. Be careful of the hot steam when you open them...lol.

The four dome servers included scambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, grilled small potato squares.

Then a tray of biscuits with gravey and jelly and jams.

There is another buffet table on the far wall with Krispy Kreme Glazed donuts and Krispy Kreme Chocolate covered white-creame-filled donuts. Hot oatmeal cereals and other cereals. Pancakes, waffles, fresh fruits of grapes, bananas, apples, oranges. Different breads for toast, rolls, biscuits. I'm sure I left things out, but I'll make a better list in September.

Now I didn't visit for dinner, because I ate at WDW. But here is a list of foods served via room service and presumably at the restaurant for dinner from 4:00 P.M. until closing or 11:00 P.M. if the hotel is full. Inside the hotel, as you enter the open lobby and to your immediate left there is a small counter service called "g2o". They are open for breakfast from 6:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M., and for lunch and dinner from 11:30 A.M. until closing seasonally or 11:00 P.M..

"g2o" has a great ice cream freezer with a lot of ice cream bars including the famous "Mickey Mouse" chocolate covered, vanilla ice cream bar.

"g2o" also serves breakfast beverages and snacks. For lunch and dinner they serve hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and even a Pizza Hut:

$11.00 - 12"-Deluxe Pizza($1.00 per extra topping).

$15.00 - 12"-Specialty Pizzas(Supreme, Meat Lovers, Pepperoni Lovers, and Veggie Lovers pizzas).

$5.00 - Personal Pan Pizza(Supreme, Pepperoni, Cheese).

$2.00 - Hot Bread Sticks.

Plenty of tables and chairs or sofas and soft chairs to sit, eat or talk or watch the large screen TV. All in the open lobby.

Tipsy Parrot Bar is to the rear of the lobby with all your favorite drinks. During the week between about 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. the hotel manager serves free house beer, chips, salsa, and popcorn. If it's nice outside, they will carry it out to the right side of the lobby out by the pools.

God bless, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)

I'm considering trying the CbM for future trip(s). Thanks a lot for all the restaurant information! I appreciate your effort - it is very useful.

The room service, like room service everywhere, is more expensive than the restaurants, but quite reasonable. You can get a sandwich for about $7, soup for about $4, seems like the prices I paid at IHoP about a month ago. I don't see any $6 apples! (My last trip to the Polynesian, I paid $6 for an apple and small carton of milk. Well, it was a good apple). Sometimes that's how hotels can offer you low room prices--they gig you for food. Doesn't seem like Courtyard DTD is doing that.

Ray,

Thanks for the info. We will be staying for only a night..next week. The kid's will definitely be into Pizza Hut. Glad you had a great trip!:Pinkbounc :p :p :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Ray,

Thank you so much for all of the informative posts about CbM. We'll be staying there in Sept. and thanks to you, I have the information to help make our stay more comfortable.

One question: Do you recall if there is a separate charge for o.j. or coffee at the breakfast buffet or is it included?

Thanks,

EthansMom

Other options: you are quite close (easy walking distance) to the Hilton and Hotel Royal Plaza, each of which has at least one full-service restaurant. Just a tad further, but still an easy walk if you can find the proper crosswalk, is Downtown Disney with multiple dining options.
