Can anyone help me?

We booked a holiday through Thomas Cook Signature flying with Virgin and upgraded to Premium Economy.

Does this allow us to use the DD Check in for free or will we have to pay?

We booked a fly drive through a travel company called 'Go Travel' last year and we got a voucher to use it for free.

Not received any information or voucher with my tickets and thought I would ask the experts before I rang TCS or Virgin.

Thanks

Claire

I would say if they have booked you everything seperate,(flights, car & hotel) you will have to pay.
If they have booked you a Fly drive then a hotel seperate you should get the vouchers.
They give the vouchers for Package holidays and Flydrives only.
Flight only you have to pay.

I also think you need to pay. But the fee it very small. Cannot remember how much:idea: but its not much..

Last year it was $5 per person not heard for this year so presume its the same.
I have done this twice now, after the first time I said never again, we got there for opening at 8.30 and it took us over 1 hour with the line in front of us. Got to Airport and the checkin desk was empty, we wasted 1 hour in the morning.
Last week I thought we would try it again but went at 11am, no-one in front of us, took 15 minutes and on our way, got to airport checkin desk was heaving.
Fantastic service if it goes well.

It's only Virgin Holidays customers and Virgin Atlantic Upper Class passengers who can use the check-in without paying. We've used it many times flying PE and we've always paid the $5 per person fee. As a PE passenger, you will be entitled to use the separate queue, regardless of who you've booked with. I'd suggest ringing Thomas Cook to see if they've got an arrangement which entitles those booking through them to free use of the facility.

We used it two weeks ago, flying PE and we paid $5 as we booked with Virgin Atlantic and not Virgin Holidays, wierd - I know. It was quick and luckily for us they weighed the suitcases and my sister and I were over so this enabled us to distribute some of our goods to our dad's suitcase. It was a lot less fuss than doing this at the airport.

We said never again after our last trip in October 2005. Queued an hour and a half and didn't get our reserved seats either. First time in Dec 2003 no wait at all. Must be getting more popular.

I don't know whether it's got something to do with the time we arrive there (tends to be around 10.30am), but we've only once ever seen a queue and, even then, it wasn't really that bad. Normally there's only about 2 or 3 other families milling around. :confused3

We always go at about 11:15 and have NEVER waited a second to go to the desk - perhaps I shouldn't shout too loud !!

We've got our flights booked with Virgin Atlantic, economy class. Are we still ok to use this and do we need to book in advance or can we just show up on the day?

You can just go but you will have to pay as you are VA

Thought as much, is it just the standard £5 or more? We're happy to pay regardless as it's just so much easier!

Its $5 per person for everyone - adults and kids (only infants are free!).

Some of our friends left on Thursday - queue was horrendous, took over an hour and a half.

I usually have a walk round there in the morning - staying at Saratoga - to try and walk some of the food off, so will have a look this morning.

David.

Just a little update - pretty busy again (infact 4 vans waiting for the cases instead of the usual 3)

Weather is a little cloudy but high 70's - anybody jealous :cool2:

David ;)
