Downtown Disney bamboozles me!

I'm a bit confused about the layout of Downtown Disney.

From what I understand, there's 3 different sections - Marketplace, Pleasure Island, and West Side.

Are these all close together? Or overlapping? Or are they completely seperate? My BF and I are planning to head to Pleasure Island at least one night during our trip, but it would be nice to be able to wander around and have a sundae from Ghirardelli in Marketplace while we were there!

Is there a map for Downtown Disney? That might help...

And do buses from resorts go straight to Downtown Disney, or do you have to catch a bus to a park, then get another bus to DTD?

And how late do things in DTD stay open?

Thanks!!! :cheer2:

They're all directly next to each other. West Side, borders Marketplace, which then goes into PI. All resorts (that I know of) have buses that go straight to DTD. Stores in the Marketplace is usually open till 9 - 11, the West Side is open a bit later (usually till Midnight) Pleasure Island is open till 2AM.

As for the maps, you may wanna check at www.allearsnet.com ... I've seen some pretty good maps there :)

Hope that helps! :)

It's basically a strip, which curls up slightly at either end. From the left, there's the West Side, then Pleasure Island in the middle, then the Marketplace on the right.

Yay!! Thanks so much for the map! I have a better idea now! :thumbsup2

One more question... Do buses still run from Pleasure Island back to the resorts at 2am? Not that I plan on staying til 2am, but you never know!! I can be known to dance up a storm!

Oh, and one last question...!

We were planning on watching IllumiNations at Epcot at 9pm, then heading to Pleasure Island after that. But since no buses run from parks, does that mean we have to get a bus back to our resort, then another bus to PI? Or a taxi? Eeeek!

Buses run until 3AM or you could take a cab for 12 - 14 dollars.

I believe you could catch a bus at EPCOT, but I'm not positive. If not, Boardwalk is a 5 minute walk from the World Showcase. (through the International Gateway) - you could definitely catch a bus from there.

Thats what I would do. If you get a spot around the United Kingdom area of World Showcase to watch illuminations, its a short walk to the boardwalk. Shorter then walking to the bus stops all the way in the front of the park. Then you can catch a bus to DTD from the boardwalk.
