Downtown Boston getting an Earl of Sandwich

If you're in Downtown Boston, but are thinking you would rather be at Downtown Disney, you can at least get a little taste of it soon...Earl Of Sandwich is opening up soon on Boston Common...in of all things, a converted old public mens room (I wonder if it had one of though troughs - older Red Sox fans will know what I mean... )

Boston does have an EoS already - in the international terminal at Logan Airport (Terminal E). Since planes to Disney aren't considered international, I'm not sure how big it is...

WBZ news showed different pictures of a bigger stone structure, but I don't know if they got the place wrong, or it isn't really the "pink palace" location that the Herald is claiming.

It doesn't need to be too big though. Boston Common is an outdoor eating location

Well, I haven't worked downtown in a few years, but snow never stopped us from getting the heck out of the office...

Of course, I'd be hard pressed if I finally do get down there to choose between EoS and my friend at Falafel King...the "Lamb Special" wrap was my invention.

That's exciting! I went to grad school in Boston and I know what it is like to be a hungry college student with picky taste buds but little cash.

Anyone know if there is a date set for the NYC opening? I just heard a general "2011". I hope it is soon, I can't wait!

EDIT: Sorry, I just found the other post -- scheduled to open in NYC Late Spring. I knew my DIS friends would have all the answers!

Looks like it is still a year away, at least. And it IS the small "pink palace" structure, not the one WBZ apparently showed on the news initially (unless they were showing another building that is similarly up for renovation).

They've been trying for two years to sign a tenant.

totally excited about this.. Now in the summer you can take your kid on the swan boats, see make way for ducklings and have an EOS.. Who says it costs an arm and leg to go to Boston for the day?
