Currently we have a 5th wheel, 27ft, 1 big slideout, dry 7200 lbs. Basically it is the 2 of us. There are pluses to what we have. There sure is plenty of room and it does track (handle) really well. Hills with my 1500 p/u are marginal.

The question is, can we go smaller and lighter. I believe we can. Trade room for shorter, lighter length/weight.

I would like to stay with the 5th wheel, but downsize. What is out there ??? Fibreglass/aluminum does not matter to us.

The Heartland North Trail 24rl is 6600 lbs dry and 26ft total length. Not much lighter or smaller than what you have. The Coachman Chaparral lite is not much lighter either, it is in the mid 6000 also.
