Downloading videos to my Blackberry Curve?

Not sure if this is the correct forum or not...

I have the Blackberry Curve and would like to load movies on to it for my children to watch on the plane. I have a little movie icon on my menu and have lost the directions. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how I would go about doing this? Thanks!

I believe that movie icon is to access stuff you have video-taped yourself. I don't think the Curve would be good to watch movies on. I think the battery would not last very long.

I use my ipod touch to watch movies and TV shows on a plane. The battery on it is pretty decent.

You should be able to load a video in MPG4 or AVI to a memory card and watch it on the BB, battery should hold a decent charge for the time you're watching it as the phone will be in airplane mode (wireless off - which is a huge drain on BBs and any smart phone).

Well if you're going to take them from DVD, yes you need specific software to rip them to other formats. There in lies some issue, because for some reason, some court thought it was a good that DVDs should not be able to be ripped to other media (which is disimilar to CDs). There are methods and software that exists specifically for this purpose, but you'll need to do some googling to find it. Movies are very large too, I don't know how big your extra memory card is but it might not be a lot to store a movie on.
