Downgrading Room View in Package - Refund?

Hi! I have paid for water view room at POR. I have been told that the water view there isn't too special. I've already paid for my package. Do you think they would refund us the difference between standard and water views? It'd save us about $150. Thanks!

I would think they might if it's not too late and there is a standard room available.

If you are 22 days or MORE away from your arrival date, you can make the change, and get a credit for the difference. If you're within 21 days of your arrival, you will be assessed a $50 change fee, but you would receive the remainder of the difference as a credit.

I would think they would refund the money. People offten add discount codes to existing reservations to get a lower rate, so I don't see how getting a cheaper room at the same resort would be any differant. You can always call and ask. If they say they won't (unlikely) then you can just keep your ressie as is.

There's a couple of differences between what you're saying and the original poster's situation.

The original poster isn't looking to apply a discount code. They're making a change, which is different.

And - the original poster mentioned that they have a package reservation. What you're talking about is typically done with room-only reservations. But the change policies are different for a package reservation - and the change fee that has been mentioned is applicable to packages where the arrival date is fewer than 21 days away.
