Fun question of the day: What's your favorite down time activity for the moments you are NOT in the parks - which activity, which resort, and why?

Mine is renting sea raycers from the Poly and zipping around the water - they are like a ride in themselves! Second would be strolling the Boardwalk at night and taking in the atmosphere (and the occasional game of skeeball). We'll be staying at the Wilderness Lodge for the first time ever this year, so I can't wait to hear your WL suggestions!

We enjoy DTD, walking around, getting a piña colada and letting the boys spend their money at the Lego store. Not terribly relaxing, but enjoyable. We also love just sitting by the pool. One of our favorite memories a few years ago-poolside room at Pop, mother in law stayed in the room with the sleeping kids while hubby and I shared some fattening snacks and a few beers sitting by the pool.

Hoping to spend some time at the boardwalk this next trip.

Spending the afternoon at SAB at the Yacht & Beach Club resort.

We look forward to that everyday as much as we do spending the mornings in the parks.

Renting a cabana at the pool or at Typhoon Lagoon. I enjoy it so much that I now do more of these days than park days.

I'm going to have to research renting a cabana now - I saw a TR once that mentioned it and it looks AMAZING! :thumbsup2

Going to the gift shop and getting a newspaper for my husband. Then, taking a stroll around the grounds while he's showering. He's newspaper addicted (the real ink newspaper) and this is my half hour to myself. Doesn't matter what resort, this is MY time.

Anything that allows me to stay off my feet. Seriously. Our midweek nonpark day frequently involves sleeping in, a leisurely breakfast and then a book and a lounge chair beside a quiet pool. With a beverage. Or two. For DH it would be a round of golf before breakfast.

Time at Celebration; riding our bikes, strolling, sitting in rocking chairs.

Time at Ft.W - riding our bikes, strolling, sitting in rocking chairs, riding boats to MK & resorts.

Ghiridelli's (didn't want to look up spellling!) in DTD.

Disney resort hopping.

Sitting by fireplace in WL.

DTD

Eating at restaurants off-site.

We don't spend too much time at the parks (obviously). Just us 2 retired folks & we've been too many times. But we still stay part of the time at a Disney resort & enjoy the atmosphere.

I absolutely love rocking in front of the WL fireplace. I dream about sipping hot chocolate in front of the Christmas tree at the WL...

What Daisyduck123 said :thumbsup2 what could be better then a cool drink :drinking1 and floating on the lazy river at SAB catching some rays :cool2: This is just so relaxing

Taking the boat from Riverside and going to Downtown Disney to get a bite at Earl of Sandwich. We ended up doing this quite often last week.

Relaxing at the pool, watching DS have fun on the waterslide at the resort:cloud9:

Tea at GF. Or just hanging out in the lobby at either AKL or GF. They are both grand, wonderful places full of comfy chairs. GF has live music and the Garden View Tea Room, and AKL has the animal viewing areas right out back and zebra domes downstairs in the Mara. Both places have good bars. :drinking1 ;) I tend to settle in with snack/beverage and sketchpad/journal and spend a few hours relaxing and putting my thoughts in order

Oh I am embarrassed to say this one... I enjoy the hour when I do laundry. DD and DH are in the pool and I do a mid week load of laundry. I know that's weird but it's my thing when we're there. :rolleyes1

My first day, while I am waiting for my room, I take the water taxi to DTD, sit at the bar at RFC, order the Bamba BBQ wrap and watch a college football game on a lazy Saturday afternoon.

I enjoy my downtime by the pool. Maybe read a book while soaking up some. Uv's. Downtown Disney is always fun with plenty to do. La Nouba Is a great time and I recommend it to all. I still haven't checked out the boardwalk but I plan to do it my next trip. DD also has the movie theatre. The AC comes in handy for a nice mid-afternoon break.

We always head straight to the parks on our arrival day. This time, I'm thinking... we will just stay at the resort, take a walk, take the boat to Downtown Disney for dinner and back (to Port Orleans Resort), swim, watch the Yee Haa Bob piano comedy guy at the resort, late night horse carriage ride, ride the trolley bike around the resort, things like that.....

We love Disney downtime. :thumbsup2

We work our trips so our arrival day has us checking in at the Poly in the morning. We have breakfast at Kona Cafe and then relax at the pool all day. DH loves the Barefoot Pool Bar! ;)

Then mid-week we have another day where we sleep in and then relax at the pool again. If I'm not in the mood to just sit by the pool I'll hope the bus or a cab to DTD and shop.
