Down By The Boardwalk, Out By The Mouse. 3/11 Jen's New PTR Pg. 69

Between LL's dreams, and Jen's latest update, I am thoroughly entertained.

Plus you know I'm happy with any update that includes talk of Jack Sparrow, never mind a picture of the good captain! ;)

I'm getting so excited for you guys, this is just great. :goodvibes

I also wanted to touch on another resolution made on that post!! The one about me being a size smaller!! Well I'm very happy to report that WOOT WOOT I will be!!!!!! As I weighed in this week for a loss of 4.4lbs :woohoo::cool1::rotfl2: I realized that I will most likely be 40lbs lighter than the last time I went to Disney in May!!

This is fantastic! Congratulations Jen!!!! You have a great mindset too about making yourself work out and not letting vacation derail you. :thumbsup2 I rejoined WW in December due to gaining back 30 of the 40 I had lost 2 years ago -- I'm almost down 10. Hoping to be down a total of 15 by the time my trip arrives. I am LOVING the new plan!!!!! You lost 4.4 in one week?!?! What is your secret??

You both look fantastic! Jen, you can really tell the difference! GREAT JOB!!!!!

LOVE the MK update!!! So, so creative. and the Disney dreams had me laughing out loud!

Single digits, single digits, single digits!! :dance3:

My dream last night was so lovely! :cloud9:

Did you see that Johnny Depp will be doing The Lone Ranger for Disney? Also the original director of the Pirates is directing...Gore something or other, I can't remember his last name.

Jen is at a week! In fact, in about exactly this time next week she should be on her plane or very close to it, right Jen?

Me, Myself & I are at 5 days. Count 'em...1, 2, 3, 4, 5!!! A whole hand! (Whenever I count like that, I get the Sesame Street counting song stuck in my head, the one with the marbles that goes up to 12, does anyone know what I'm talking about?)

Massachusetts is enjoying another snow storm today...I use the term "enjoying" sarcastically in case you didn't know. We have another storm forecasted for Friday and it better stay on Friday. Not Saturday, Not Sunday aka the day I break free of New England...oh no, it better stay on Friday.

Someone was talking about a foot of snow for Friday and I will admit in my panicked state I thought...what if I just fly out on Thursday night...? :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: I don't want the stinkin' snow to get in the way of my departure.

Oh and I was never sent my Magical Express tags...even though I've had the information on my reservation from the beginning. I'm annoyed, I have to call Disney but we didn't have tags last time since we added on the extra days last minute so I'm sure it will be fine again.

In happy, non stressed out Leslie news, Marc & I are thinking of spending the night in a hotel near the airport on Saturday night if we can find a good deal. I think it might be fun and I wouldn't have to get up as early which is always nice.

Question of the Day....or maybe we should call it "Question of the when Leslie has Time." :rotfl:

I'm just cracking myself up all over the place today. :upsidedow

If you could live in any Disney movie, which would you choose?

Jen - Ratatouille

Leslie - Mary Poppins

I'm VERY jealous of Jen's answer, I should have picked that one. :rotfl2: But she is my best friend so I can go visit her.

The director is Gore Verbinski (or something like that). :thumbsup2

I love reading about your dreams, Leslie! They really are very entertaining.

Hurray for five and seven days! Getting closer and closer. That snowstorm better stay away!

I remember that Sesame Street song! :lmao:

What Disney movie would I want to live in? Oh, that's a toughie. Has to be someplace warm and not too filled with crazies. :lmao: I better go check out that list of Disney movies again...

I am going to go with Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I know it doesn't fit the warm category, but I do like Angela Lansbury's little house in the English village.

LL is this it? :goodvibes That's the song I thought of.

As for a place to live I am going to have to get back to you because my first thought was CP's answer, Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I love that movie.

I am not afraid to fly out early if we have weather coming our way either. My dh and I already have that day off so we can if it looks bad. That is another reason why I love Southwest. No fees for flight changes.

After your last post I would think you would want to stay as far away as possible from the French countryside and Paris in Ratatouille.. Seems to me you were living that movie (or a scene from it) just a few nights ago??!!

Hmmmm... movie... well, I think I would have to go with Pinocchio, because that would imply I was in an Italian village or town somewhere, right? That is where I would love to be!! :goodvibes

5 becomes 4.... and 7 becomes 6... :yay: :yay:

I didn't know that...wait, maybe I did...is he playing Tanto? I think my DH may have mentioned that.

And to answer today's question, if I could live in any Disney movie, I think hands down, it'd be Beauty and the Beast. I could seriously wrap my mind about the bucolic French countryside, lots of books, simple living...ah, yes. And enchanted servants who can prepare gourmet food. What's not to love?

How funny/creepy that you had a dream about Dexter!!! :rotfl2: I need to catch up one a few seasons....I used to have Showtime etc ....Now that I have an appleTV with Netflix I must remember to put Dexter in my queue. ;)
Oh yes that "medium" If I was ever even remotely interested in that show I wouldn't watch it now because she is such a *****!!! And yes Camille....she was deserving of what she got. ;)

As for the movies I would like to live in....I am thinking Ratatouille because of my love affair of food :rolleyes1 OR maybe Enchanted....because then it could be like living in the real world for part of the time and then fairytale cartoony world the rest

ONE WEEK ONE WEEK I'm ONE WEEK AWAY WOOT WOOT!!!!

This time next week I'll be getting ready to check in for my Raglan Road dinner and getting my shop on at DTD!!!

Hopefully you will find a great deal on a hotel near the airport so you don't have to stress much about getting there too early!!! Your forecast looks good for Sunday...I keep checking LOL!!

:woohoo: congrat ladies! Your trip is almost here!
:woohoo::woohoo: congrats Jen on the 40lb weight loss - that is absolutely wonderful!!!!!!

Jen - you make a fabulous cruise director. I loved your last post! That was so, so creative.

What Disney movie would I live in?

I am going with Bambi. Not sure why, just thought it would be fun!

I kept thinking Gore Vidal but I KNEW that wasn't right. :rotfl2:

I used to have a dream dictionary and I would look up what my dreams meant, apparently I'm a twisted individual. :rotfl2:

I almost picked Bedknobs and Broomsticks because I have become OBSESSED with House Hunters International and want to live in England.

Yes! That is it! I love that, it was pinball not marbles, I was close. :lmao:

I know, right? It's probably a good thing I would just go and visit Jen in France. :rotfl:

Oooh, Pinocchio is a very good one! I didn't even think of that one.

Yes he is playing Tanto.

I am shocked and amazed that you did not pick Pirates. ;) Beauty & the Beast was a very close second to me, I'd love to be able to go get fresh bread in that little village.

I'm in love with Dexter. It is my favorite TV drama EVER. EVER! I love love love love Dexter. Sigh. I can't believe I have to wait until September for the next season.

Enchanted is another really good pick!

One Week! 5 days! One Week! 5 days!

I keep checking too, it does look good just frigid.

I am going with Bambi. Not sure why, just thought it would be fun!
Bambi is a very good choice too! It would be very peaceful.

3 days.

3 days.

3 days for me!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

5 days.

5 days.

5 days for Jen!!!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Not that I'm excited or anything....:lmao:

I had a Disney dream last night. The gist of it was that I changed my Pop reservation to Bay Lake Tower. Ohhh...how I wish I could! :rotfl2: I wonder if I could pass that off to Marc as a necessary expense. :rolleyes1

Question of the Day.....
[
B]If you could could design the next Disney Resort, how would you theme the resort? [/B]

Jen - (the answer in her own words) I do believe I would make a Haunted Mansion Themed Resort...not just the rooms but the whole resort would be based off the different HMs located around the world!! I know the rooms are coming at some point but I would love to have a HM themed resort!!! That would be WAY too cool!!!!

Leslie - I would theme the resort on different rides. I would have a Jungle Cruise building, complete with animatronic lions and and the backside of water. There would be a Soarin' building with an orange grove. There were would also be a Spaceship Earth area with the smell of burning and cave drawings. I think that would be an excellent resort!

What would you pick for a theme?

So close! You are both so close!!! Don't forget to text me about all the fun you are having so I can get a vicarious Disney fix next week!

Love your ideas for your themed resorts. I would have to theme a resort around something exotic like Morocco or something. Then, I would have to find the money to stay there. LOL! Or like The Adventurer's Club used to look -- how cool would that be??? Of course, I would really have to insist that Joe Rohde design it. :goodvibes

I'm all caught up with your pre-trip. Can't believe that your trip is almost here!

As for the questions, I think I'll agree with whoever said Enchanted. Living in a real world where an entire park of people can burst out into a big musical number sounds like fun. As far as resort, I'd love one themed to France. Have a section that looks like Paris and a section that's more like the countryside. Of course, some great restaurants would be a must too.

Oh Love this new challenge question... my this is right out of HGTV. WHERE oh where is MeMom!!!

Okay, well, I would say (and I don't have any girls in my family) Disney needs a princess resort. SO the whole layout would be based on the princesses, castles, etc. and the decor to match the characters... it would probably give every boy over the age of eight the hives, and they would likely refuse to stay there, but it could be a girly place... they could do tea, have a BBB, horse drawn carriages, and character meals accordingly! The architecture would have to be castle-like and the grounds too... moat, garden maze, knot gardens, gazebos, that sort of thing... Hey, the boys can sleep in the barn.

COUNT down!!!! :yay: :yay:

You girls are getting close now! LL sounds like you are going to time your departure perfectly right between snow storms... must be the DIS weather gods at work!

Is it completely pathetic that I'm so in love w/ the Beach Club that I cannot imagine a more perfect resort for me?

Wow - what a great question!

I could totally see Disney basing a resort on all the different characters. There could be a princess section and a villain section. A section with classic Disney characters - you get the idea.

Of course, my perfect resort would probably combine the theme of the AKL with the theme of the Epcot resorts. Not sure how that would all play out, but its fun to think about.

what great great questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A themed resort. Hmmn...

While I realize this is a DL ride...I'll go (just to be different) for one themed around the Matterhorn! A Swiss Chalet...apres ski lodge style with a true fondue restaurant, a cheese shop and a chocolatier.

Movie I want to live in...

Not to copy TK but hands down, Beauty and the Beast. I love this provincial life! Ever since Peter Mayle's "A Year in Provence" I've dreamed of living there. Eating there. Breathing there. The bread! The food! The wine!:cloud9:

I can't quite extend anything to Tuscany off the top of my head or that might win....:goodvibes

SOOO close! So jealous! You both look amazing!!!!!!!!!!

I know, I know. You'd think I'd have picked Pirates.

Let me tell you this. I'd have picked Pirates if it involved lying on a nice little Caribbean island with the good captain, drinking rum. But have you ever noticed how much it rains / snows / is nasty weather on the ships in those movies?

I'm thinking warm, sunny France is right up my alley. Now, I know that they get there share of cold weather too, but at least I can cozy up in my little fairy tale cottage, savvy? :lmao:

I can't really think of new theming for a Disney resort, although if I could really just go out on a limb here, I'd love to see a Disney resort that was Tim Burton-esque. Jack Skellington, Nightmare Before Christmas, his version of Alice in Wonderland. That would be awesome...staying somewhere with architectural details that match his set designs. Oh, heaven. Seriously.
