Down By The Boardwalk, Out By The Mouse. 3/11 Jen's New PTR Pg. 69

My very first Disney memory is my Alice in Wonderland dress my mother bought for me from my very first trip, and the terrible beet red sunburn I got on that trip. That was when my parents discovered I really had inherited my mother's fair Irish skin, and that I was allergic to the sun. I don't tan, I burn. :lmao: But I was a very cute beet in my Alice dress, and that made it all better. :thumbsup2

Leslie - I'm sure you will be happy with the school change. Knowing you, you gave it a lot of thought! Good luck with it.

First Disney memory - not a park memory, but watching Wonderful World of Disney on TV as a kid.

First Disney Park memory was at DisneyLAND when I was in 10th grade. My brother and I rode the Materhorn and Space Mountain (that darkness still freaks me out and now I don't ride it!). I was such a daredevil!

I remember pulling into the parking lot at Shades of Green for my first WDW trip. We met up with some of DH's family. I don't remember my first ride or anything at the parks! Isn't that awful? It was only in 1999!!!

Checking In! I just made a new vera update in my ptr! You would love it! My first Disney memory is from the trip when I was 4. I remember a few things!
1. Meeting Minnie Mouse for the 1st time! My mom had bought me a minnie mouse dress, shoes, and ears to wear for our 1st day in the parks and we went to Magic Kingdom. I remember standing outside of the castle and all of a sudden my mom tapped me on my shoulder and Minnie was standing behind me! I was amazed!
2. Watching the fireworks from our balcony at the Grand Floridian!
3. Meeting Ariel in her grotto!

Can't wait for another update!

TWO weeks LESS than TWO weeks, HOLY smokes! let's dance!!! :dance3:

First Disney Memory in Disneyland, the Haunted Mansion, with a green grinning ghost that came out to socialize... ;) That and screaming my head off with my mom in the front seat (of Space Mountain) and my dad in the back seat laughing his head off at us screamers ... I was seven at the time I believe... good times! :)

My first memory is like yours Leslie, a jumble of memories, because I don't remember what order they were in just that they happened. They are all from my one and only trip to Disney World when I was 6. I remember riding IASW, Space Mtn, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, walking through the Castle, MSEP, Peter Pan, Splash Mtn, Big Thunder RR, and riding on the momorail. Epcot had just opened and not all of the countries were finished yet. I remember it was the coldest winter Florida had had in years and it was cold. The oranges all froze and we were NOT prepared.

Are you still snowed in up there in New England?

I think you will be happier in the office, too, LL! :goodvibes

I love both your memories of Disney -- well, except for the chicken pox part, LL!

My very first memory of Disney World was when I was little, little, little. I must have been about three at the time. We were leaving the Magic Kingdom, and we stopped in the candy shop. My mom bought me a clear plastic box of rock candy, and I remember thinking that rock candy was the most gorgeous stuff I had ever seen. :rotfl:

Just stopped by to see how the packing and counting down is coming along. :wizard:

I am enjoying all the memories. I was there the first year WDW opened. You had ticket books, and you could only ride a certain amount of rides. I remember thinking about the choices carefully.

I was 4 1/2-5 my first trip in 1975  Alas my memory is not THAT good :rotfl2: I am reminded and I do barely remember my brother whipping us around so fast in the teacups I couldn't hold my head up. My father said I wanted to ride IASW over and over  The stretching room in the HM....I was crying and upset and my Mom gave me a wintergreen lifesaver and I stopped crying :rotfl: I also remember my brothers hiding in the caves on Tom Sawyer Island and jumping out and scaring me (I have three older brothers :sad2:) I also vividly remember the MSEP :goodvibes
This likely happened over a series of trips when I was a cute pig tailed little girl :rolleyes1

Cute bags ladies! Leslie, I am confident that you will be so well armed with contingency plans in your fabby bag should the crocs bother you, it will not happen. It only happens if you aren't prepared. :rotfl:

First disney memory is actually from DL and involves a pirate trying to steal me away while in line at POC.

That and eating a monte cristo at the Blue Bayou.

Interesting that both involve POC!

I don't know what my first memory is.....just know that we ALWAYS loved it and ALWAYS had a good time there. I know that I always smell the amazing scent of the Poly lobby when I think of Disney...it is my favorite Disney scent, and probably from some of my earliest trips!

No time for comments. I'm so sorry. I appreciate and love all of your comments but I'm just too busy to respond today. Bad LL!

I do have time to say....

I AM SINGLE DIGIT DANCING!!

Hurray for Single Digit Dancing!!!

Love reading your bucket lists! It looks like you might be able to cross off a couple of things on this trip that is just mere days away! :goodvibes

What a fun update!! I can say, I definitely do have some of those on my list!

I have accomplished two of Jen's, and how that's possible, I have no idea!
I've seen the Main Street Electrical Parade (this past December), which you'll get to cross off soon Jen! And out of sure luck, my mom and I were chosen to do the Backlot Tour back in 2000. She was the one captain'ing the ship and ducking when the "planes" came by, oy, she was a trip :rotfl2: and I was the one, of course that got all the water dumped on me. Fun times!

LOVE this post! Will definitely have to think on this one!

oooh tough lists. I've only done 2 on Jen's (Backlot Tour volunteer and Country Bears) and 1 on LL's (been to DL). Very good goals ladies! :thumbsup2

Question of the Day....

If you were snowed in today, what two Disney movies would you watch??

I was a bit behind...

Well, I don't ever really get to watch what I want to, so if a miracle happened and I did get to watch what I wanted to - I'd pick two I haven't seen in a very long time, Dumbo and Bambi.

Question of the Day...

If you could win a free Disney Tour, which one would you choose?

Probably Keys to the Kingdom. Or, if Henry was a bit older, the Family Magic Tour if we all won it.

Your bag update had me laughing out loud!!!!!!!!! HILARIOUS! And beautiful bags ladies! I LOVE that Tree one (can't remember the real name!). Sooooo cute.

And those Crocs are an excellent choice! I've worn them dressy and casual, shorts, pants, skirts - the whole gamut! And my newest ones are very similar but have a peep-toe! LL, I hope they don't bother you at all!

Question of the Day...

What is your first memory of Disney?

Well, it was 2006 and my honeymoon, so I better remember it! I remember walking into AKL and my jaw dropping. I had seen pictures, but seeing it in person was something completely different! The lobby was HUGE and beautiful!

I don't remember our first parks moment....but I wrote a TR, so I should just look at that. ;) I do remember being in DHS and enjoying LMA, impressed that they could do all that at a THEME PARK! and hugging the "New York City" sign since I missed the City already. I remember making Joe iron my skirt for our dinner at Boma. :rotfl2: (I still make him iron!) I remember riding the roller coasters and screaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaming and Joe laughing at me - esp Space Mountain. I also remember riding ToT and having no idea what would happen. When the elevator went out into the hallway, I freaaaaaaaked. Then when it got into position just before it was about to fall, everything went completely black and we just sat there for a few seconds. I shouted, "SHUT UP!" because I was so nervous and not knowing what would happen - Joe busted out laughing and we laughed all the way during the free-fall. It's one of our most favorite memories to recall. :lovestruc

I also remember being at MK and then being forced to leave at 7 pm for a "Halloween Party". I was NOT happy, we weren't done with the park and had just moved a dinner ressie at Kona so we could stay longer.

Needless to say, I'm a much better DISer now and understand the parties! :goodvibes

Disney Bucket List: I just wrote this last night-no joke! And I added a few from ideas off other people's. I've loved reading everyone's responses to your questions!

Stay at all DVC resorts
Stay at all normal resorts
Run a Disney race
Go to Disneyland
Do the Magic Kingdom Ultimate Touring Plan
Go on a Disney Cruise
Stay Club level somewhere

Take a fireworks cruise
Stay at Aulani
Take my sister and nephews to Disney World
Take a solo trip

WOW - that's a long reply. Sorry. :flower3: (feel free to respond with a "Thanks, that's cool." LOL!)
