Down By The Boardwalk, Out By The Mouse. 3/11 Jen's New PTR Pg. 69

Too funny! As others said, if it makes you feel better and more relaxed then it is totally worth it! I am with MeMom and Tracy, I like being driven around. And LOVE being able to get to Epcot and DHS by walking. I think you will enjoy that too! :)

I'm not surprised, my dear! :lmao:

Hey, it's your vacation, if a rental car makes you happy and more relaxed, I say go for it. To each their own! :goodvibes

So already I have failed at my resolutions, but I blame it on my car dependency LOL!!!

SO PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!!!

PS: I did get an amazing deal on a car and I'm hoping that as we get closer I will get a better deal!!

Hmmmmm....I wonder what Leslie will think about this newest development?? LOL

oh girl....:rotfl:

:rotfl2: You caved!!!

At least you got a good deal. ;)

The walking/boat to Epcot and DHS from the Boardwalk is VERY nice. The ride to MK isn't bad at all either - it just stops at the Swolfin after the BW. To AK and DTD it makes alllllll the stops. BW is first so at least you get a seat.

But, you don't have to worry about that now! :goodvibes

As you know we LOVED the Boardwalk. Seriously, LOVED. The hallways can be looooooong, but hopefully you won't have to deal with that and land close to the elevators or stairs. The pool is awesome and George the Clown is truly a nice guy once you get to know him. ;)

I took a ton of pictures all week long, I'll be starting the TR soon! :hyper: Let me know if you have any questions about the resort too, I'll try to answer the best I can.

I folded like a deck of cards Brook!! It didn't take much for me change my mind LOL!!!

YAY for loving the Boardwalk!! I cannot wait to stay there!!! The clown has a name??? I so didn't know that!!! I cannot wait for your TR and all the pictures!!! We will definitely pick your brain about the resort!!!

 you and your cars!! I must say I do not mind ME and I enjoy being driven around...now say if someone was to rent a car I wouldn't mind being driven around by them either!!! :rotfl: I do NOT like the return service of ME and having to be at the airport 3 hours early. This is starting to stress me out for my return trip in October....my flight is at 6am (I booked on miles so I have stupid flight times :sad2:)
I know that someday I will want to rent a car to go and visit Harry ;)

Tracy

Ughh that makes for a VERY early morning!!!! I really don't mind the driving around, with a car it takes only minutes to get from one park to another!!! I also am loving that I will be able to return my car only a couple of hours before my flight instead of 3 hours early!!!

OOOh I so want to visit HP also!!! I cannot wait for the last movie to come out!!!

If you really want to feel like a rock star, rent a towncar. They will be out front with a special plate with your name on it waiting for you.

DME to the resort is a great way to travel for me but coming back is an entirely different story!

I  Harry. I would get a towncar for your return in Oct Tracy, DME will want you 3 hours early and a towncar will be 2 and at that hour, the extra sleep is worth the cost (about $42 I think). We had a 6am flight in 09 and made the call at 11om the night before to switch to a towncar and I am SO glad we did!

OOOH I did think about a towncar at first instead of ME, but then I realized I really like the idea of having the car while I'm on property!! If Leslie and I decided to do a lot more resort restaurants having the car will make traveling around a lot easier!!!!

I totally agree C!! I just want to have a relaxing trip!!!! I am so going to enjoy walking and riding the boats around at the Boardwalk!!!

LOL!! Nope I didn't but I was keeping my lips sealed about anything from you while you were away LOL!!!:rotfl:

I would have allowed that! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I may or may not have texted Jen before she booked the car rental that I wanted to have a car in January....:rolleyes1

You guys are all too funny!!! Let's just say, that the thought was on my mind and it really didn't take much convincing on Leslie's part!! One text and I was sold...give me the green light to get a rental car and I'm all over that LOL!!

We have broken multiple resolutions in planning our upcoming trip. We had grand plans of following our resolutions but it just hasn't worked out that way.

#1. I peer pressured Jen into getting a rental car.

I really missed having a rental car this trip and if I was bummed missing it, I can't imagine how bummed Jen would be in January if we didn't have one. I mentioned that I missed it while I was at Disney and 20 minutes later Jen texted me that she had reserved one. Phew.

#2. We had to change our dates.

This one is my fault completely but not really. When I went back to school last Thursday I learned that my first Clinical class starts in December, it ends January 22nd...when I would be at Disney. Well with our previous trip dates, I would have missed three class, one before my final, my final and then the first class of the next one. I was not okay with that. I don't know how my Clinical classes will be structured and it made me really nervous to be missing my first Clinical final.

I was devastated. In tears at school, thinking I was going to have to cancel the trip. Which with renting DVC points, we would have had to take the loss. I mentioned going in February to Jen, she couldn't because of testing at her school. Jen mentioned June, but I couldn't because I'd either be in my internship or finishing it up looking for a new job.

I told Jen she might have to go without me. I was so upset Thursday night. I finally told Jen, let me sleep on it and see how I feel tomorrow.

I woke up Friday morning, with one thought in my head. We could push the trip back a week. Why didn't I think of that the night before...I will never know.

So the new plan is this.

Jen arrives Tuesday night, January 25th.

Leslie arrives Wednesday morning, January 26th.

I can attend the 1st class of my new class after taking my final on the 22nd.

Leslie leaves Monday night, January 31st.
I will only miss one class, I'll be back in time for class on Tuesday night.

Jen leaves Tuesday, Feb. 1st.

I think, now I'm wondering if she leaves Wednesday. Jen, when do you leave? :rotfl2: So it's a shorter trip for me, 5 nights but I'm very very thankful that I'm still able to go. :thumbsup2

#3. We changed our ADRs.

I know! I said I wasn't going to change things but after Marc & I's trip, there were some places that I must eat at again, plus a few that we had wanted to try but couldn't fit in. And to hear our new ADRs....well....you are just going to have to wait and see. ;)

I think it is all great. Were you really not going to make changes just for the sake of NOT making changes? That is rediculous. I'm so glad you didn't have to cancel altogether. Do you think you may be able to squeeze in one more trip with you APs.

I think all the changes will work out for the best! Although I must ask, did you think about May? Like the very beginning?! Just saying :rolleyes1

I was trying to prevent the changing madness that I experienced with my other trip. I couldn't handle that many changes again. We had very good reason to make date changes plus I needed to tweak the ADRs a bit with my experiences with my band in Disney.

I don't think I'm going to be able to squeeze in another trip. It's a bummer. I was really hoping too. It's looking more and more like I might have to quit my current job in order to complete my internship depending on what I can find so I'd be unpaid for at least 4 weeks during the internship and then I'd have to find a job. We'll see though. A lot can happen in a year!
