I've stayed at the Doubletree twice. Most recently in November last year for 5 nights before moving on to Disney. Wanted somewhere handy for for early Sea World/DC starts (got good internet deal). Large spreadout hotel but multiple pools/facilities in tropical surroundings. Free cookie on check-in. Rooms were very spacious with tea/coffee maker, safe etc. Did not use the restaurant as I was out and about but did make use of the deli for quick snacks and breakfasts. Free shuttle to Universal (you have to book the day before). Did not leave till 10:20 I think but early enough for me this time. Also shuttle to Seaworld if you need it but there is a back gate to the hotel (re-entry controlled by room key). Once out the gate its a short walk to the main road where you are opposite the main seaworld car park entrance.
Certainly did the job for me (will be there again in May briefly).
