Hi there,

Just got back from 2 fantastic weeks at Disney, first time there, first time to USA and I loved it. We stayed on site at the DoubleTree Guest suites, has anyone else stayed there? And what did you think of it?

Personally its a great hotel for families, all rooms being well furnished suites,, quiet location, less than 10mins walk to Downtown Disney and easy access to all the parks.

Well will post more about our stay but thats all for now

Sounds like you had a great time!

Definitely post more details! The first four nights of our trip is booked for the Doubletree in DD. Most things I've read have been positive, but some occasional mentions about rooms being a little worn down and musty. Thanks!

We stayed for two weeks and the room was on the 2nd floor. It was bright, airy and very spacious especially comparedt o other rooms in the the area. It wasn't "2000" modern but for 2 weeks as a place to chill out, eat and sleep then its ideal for a family.

The staff were very nice and friendly especially Connie who works as the conceirge , most mornings. The pool is nice and safe for children, nice play area, jacuzzi was clean and well maintained, the games room was great for our kids but others might find it otherwise, small theatre for kids - nice touch and adequate gym - but who goes on holiday to Disney to keep fit???

The one thing that i didn't like was the retaurant, lots of other places to eat for less money and better choice within a stones throw. We used to go to Sizzlers (out of the hotel turn right, turn left at the traffic lights, at crossroads, and its on the right hand side about 1/2 mile down.) Also by Sizzlers is a great Chinese buffet, which is worth a try. Another favourite for us was Golden Coral (turn right at crossroads, heading towards I-4) and its on the left just under the bridge.

I hope these things help, it is a place we would got back to either for a couple of days or full 2 weeks.

Thanks for your thoughts. I don't imagine eating much at the hotel, other than breakfast, which I should get complimentary as a Hilton Gold member.
