Doubletree Downtown Disney & Groceries & EMH

I see that this hotel is near the Crossroads shopping plaza -- and it has a grocery store. Is it feasible to walk to this store and back from the Doubletree? I posted earlier about renting a car -- if I can get groceries (bottled water and juice boxes) without a car...bonus!

I have yet to call the hotel, but I've read elsewhere that when you buy Disney tix at this hotel, you get EMH --- anyone know this for sure?

flagdaytwins, yes you could walk. You'll have to cross the interstate & it might not be so nice walking back with lots of groceries. Estimate 3/4 mile to 1 mile--one way.

No EMH, only Hilton offers that perk.

No EMH at DoubleTree. The only DTD hotel with EMH is the Hilton.
There is a grocery store at the Crossing. Prepare to pay, it's VERY VERY costly. It might still be cheaper to rent a car!

how are you getting back and forth to the hotel?

Disney only has DME for WDW resorts.

if a towncar then ask for a grocery stop.

if a shuttle bus then go with wegoshop or gardengrocer.

the grocery store that you can walk to is a Goody's - very, very expensive.

a couple of miles down this road is a Winnie Dixie - more reasonable.
