double vs 2 single strollers?

double. loved it. I maneuvered just fine and never clipped anyone's heels.

get $5 battery operated christmas lights for the stroller bar so you can find your stroller faster at night after rides, dinner and shows.

we did this last time we went at christmas and plan to do it again this year! Still taking a double stroller even though our youngest is 5. It will be nice to have a place to have blankets and jackets and goodies that we buy from the stores and not have to carry it. Plus since it will be christmas, it's nice to know that my 5 year old won't get lost in the crazy crowds!

We always ALWAYS do 2 single strollers for our boys. That way we can separate if we want, or if we're going to DTD or something, we just bring one - they can take turns walking. Plus, single strollers are easier to get through crowds.

I just realized I already answered this post several days ago.

I'm going to blame this on pregnancy brain :D

Last time we went I had twins DDs 21mos and used my double Maclaren. We also had DD5. We rented a single Disney stroller for a few days towards to end of the week when she was tired. She did fine without a stroller those first few days. She also loved riding on DHs shoulders. You could also let the kids take turns in the stroller. I would bring your own and then rent one if your oldest gets tired. It worked for us.

We do 2 singles....one full size stroller, and one umbrella for older DD. If DD is walking we fold the umbrella (Maclaren Volo) and it hangs on the handles of our fullsize stroller (Peg P3) without taking up more space. Then when we need the 2 strollers we have them, which is great if we split up or have trouble getting through crowds. We have a Joovy Caboose at home but it is a beast to navigate & fold in a hurry. The Mac Volo easily slings over a shoulder as well so it is no trouble taking on a bus, even while holding a kid. Good luck!

We normally bring our Bob Revolution Duallie, but last time we decided to do two single umbrella's. I got the connectors to attach them and it worked out really well. Only thing... Make sure they are the same umbrella stroller or they have the same wheel span, handle bar height if they are different. But with those connectors we were able to keep the boys together or separate them. Worked perfectly! We are doing that again this trip.

I would take 2 singles since your 5 year old will only be using it minimally. getting on and off buses should be no big deal. fwiw we would fold the stroller before getting in line...rather than hold up the line folding it and getting baby and gear situated.

I vote for double. We have always used a double after #2. We have three children, ages 2, 4, and 6. We rent a double with a glider board and it works great. If we split up my older children end up walking, and we have never had an issue. It is so much easier only having to juggle one stroller vs. two.

Here's a different idea. Take a single stroller that would work for either child and a sling or some other sort of carrier. We did three trips with a baby and a 3 year old and it worked great to have the baby in the sling and 3 year old in the stroller. On our last trip, we brought our single for the 2.5 year old, figuring the 5 year old could walk the entire time. However, he refused to use the stroller so he was in the sling and the 5 year old took stroller breaks so we could move faster. A sling or some other type of carrier can easily carry toddlers up to 35 lbs usually. (YDS at 2.5 years old was 32 lbs the last trip and the biggest issue was his feet kicking short me in the knees when he was in the sling. That was not an issue when ODS was 33 lbs in the sling since he was only 16 months then).

We have 3 & 1 year old. We are planning on bringing two umbrella strollers. There are clips you can buy online that will connect the strollers or we can separate if we want.
