Double Tree or Hilton-DTD

My family would like to stay in the DTD area before checking into BLT. I'm interested in the DoubleTree and Hilton. Has anyone stayed at either of these resorts? What are your thoughts? I'm assuming we could walk to DTD from either of these hotels. Thanks

We were very unhappy with the Doubletree when we stayed in September. I haven't stayed at the Hilton yet, though. We did walk from the Doubletree to DTD. The Hilton is even closer!

Hi - we stayed at the Hilton last year - we came out of the French doors in our room, walked a couple of hundred yards, crossed the road and we were in DTD! For location, it cannot be beat. Our room was on the ground floor - cannot remember the number though. If we had used the Main Entrance, it would have taken a little longer but not much! The only downside was our room - for a Hilton I was VERY disappointed. However, the hotel in itself is fantastic.

Funnily enough, we need a suite this year and are looking at Doubletree. A little further down the road but a pleasant walk along Hotel Plaza Boulevard.

With location and EMH, I would recommend the Hilton - after all, your room is just somewhere to lay your head after a long day!!!

I stayed at the Doubletree 2 years ago and loved it. It is a short walk to DTD. I have not stayed at the Hilton before.

Both are large chains, so I am sure either would be fine.

I have stayed at both double tree and Hilton in DTD. The DoubleTree is ok, it's great if you need more than 2 beds since all rooms are suites with a pull out couch. But, the Hilton is a much nicer hotel we really enjoyed our stay there. The pool is great, has a bigger selection of onsite food, EMH and right across the street from DTD. We are planning to go back to the Hilton this fall. If you have AAA you can usually get a pretty good rate.

Ive been to both and although the rooms are a little nice at the Hilton we like the suites at the DT. The Hilton is also a bit closer to DTD but only by about 5 minutes!
