Okay, so this is another attempt at writing a trip report. I have started a trip report before, but never got around to finishing it. This time I will, I promise. I always love reading trip reports and looking at the pictures of others. So, I decided that I will write one for everyone to enjoy. I am currently getting ready for a Road Trip with the family this summer. I was thinking about writing about it to pass the time until my Disney Birthday Trip Report, but don't know if anyone would be interested. Let me know if you would like to hear it. So on to the Pre-trip report!

A few weeks ago, while out to dinner with my parents, we were talking about our upcoming trip and then got on the topic of using our Seasonal Passes one more time before they expire. So, my mom decided to call DVC the next day and see what was available for August 12-16. Well, we were lucky and got a Savannah View Room at AKL Jambo House. Now onto the cast of characters.

Cast:

Me: 27, (Birthday girl #1) a kindergarten, first, and second grade reading teacher. I love all things Disney. I am the trip planner. Everyone knows that if they have a question about Disney to come to me.

DH: 27, Intermediate Math/ Social Studies Teacher. I have converted him into a Disney-holic, before me he had only been to disney two times, once when he was little and the other time for his senior class trip. Since being together we have gone about 20 times. His favorite ride is Toy Story Mania. He can't wait for it to come out for the Wii.

Mom: (Birthday girl #2) She'll kill me if I put her age. DVC owner, aka Disney enabler. She is the up before dawn kind of person, ready to go. She loves Disney just as much as I do. She is always looking for another reason to go. Her favorite ride is Soarin'.

Dad: Nature guy, DVC owner. He loves AKL. Last time we stayed there, if you couldn't find him, he was outside watching the animals. His new obsession is the night vision binoculars that they let you use at the lodge. He has now gone out and bought a pair for himself to use when we go to the lodge. He also loves meerkats and always strikes a meerkat pose for the camera when he can.

Okay, so I have been super busy at work over the past few weeks. I have been ordering curriculum and unpacking it at the school for next year. Not to mention that my classroom has been moved and they decided to replace the windows in the whole with hurricane impact windows, so my wall is torn out. I will post pictures soon of the mess in my new classroom. Also, in the mean time, I have been helping my principal interview the new hires for this year. We have hired all 15 of our new hires. YES 15! We our the only school in our county that is actually hiring instead of laying off. We doubled our enrollment for the new school year. Anyways, back to the trip report. I have finally planned out our trip with all of our ADRs. Here it is:

August 12- Leave Ft. Lauderdale for Disney Boma for dinner

August 13- Blizzard Beach Ohanas for dinner

August 14- Epcot LeCelliar for dinner

August 15- DHS in morning and Magic Kingdom at night Tony's Town Sqaure for dinner

August 16- Animal Kingdon in morning; leave to go home :sad1:

Ok so I have started the countdown until our trip.
17 days! :)

I will be posting a picture a day from all of our previous trips. Please feel free to post some suggestions for me to do on this trip. We have been to the World so many times, but still have not done everything.

Now on to a more detailed plan for the trip:

August 12-We are planning on leaving around 3pm. (I have a Reading Teacher workshop to attend to that day so, I will be sitting in a classroom somewhat listening. haha) We will make the 2 1/2 hour drive to WDW and check in at AKL Jambo House. We have an 8:25pm dinner reservation at Boma! This is one of my favorites. Love the zebra domes. :goodvibes

August 13- Get up early, watch the animals from the room, and eat breakfast in the room. EMH at Blizzard Beach. We will be spending the day at Blizzard Beach. Dinner at Ohana at 9:40pm (couldn't get any earlier), hopefully we will get a window seating for the fireworks.

August 14-Eat breakfast in the room and watch the animals. Head to Epcot for Rope Drop. Spend the day at Epcot with a break back to AKL. Dinner at LeCelliar at 5:40pm. Yum!

August 15-Eat breakfast in the room and watch the animals. EMH at DHS for Toy Story Mania (DHs fav ride). Mid-day break at AKL. Head over to Magic Kingdom for Dinner at Tony's at 6:25pm, Dole Whips, SpectroMagic, and Wishes.

August 16-Eat breakfast in room and watch the animals one last time. Check out of AKL and head to AK for rope drop. Eat lunch at Flame Tree BBQ. Head home to go back to work. :sad2:

If anyone has any ideas of things for us to do, while there I would love to hear them. We will be celebrating my mom's birthday (August 6th) and my birthday (August 17th) on this trip. Any ideas of things that I could do for my mom would be helpful. Now off to work I go, my prinicpal is giving me a chance to get into my classroom early to start setting up since I will be attending several trainings and meetings during the time that we are allowed. I'll take pictures of the process today.

15 more days!

The Classic Beverly Trick! I got both of them. They've tried it before but have forgotten about it.

Anyone have some fun suggests for us? I'm looking for some new things to do.

Thanks. I've been actually debating about making it a live trip report once I go. We'll see though. What do you think?

I just wanted to tell everyone, especially those from South Florida, that tonight when my husband and I were coming home on the Turnpike that I noticed something very familiar on the Service Plaza sign. What did I see?!?!

Earl of Sandwich!!!!!!

I came home to check online and discovered that several of the Service Plazas in South Florida will have Earl of Sandwich counters in them. So, if your every in Southern Florida and want a Disney fix without going there, you can stop by one and pick up a sandwich. Just thought I would share!

Good Morning Everyone! Sorry I haven't been able to be on here to much, I have been busy with this at school.

Notice the plastic taking up half of my room. Yeah, it's still there but I'm working around it. I am going in today to work on my room. Teachers technically don't come back until the 17th, but I will be conducting workshops for my school during that time so I am trying to set up my room beforehand. It' slowly coming along, but I need to have it done before I leave for Disney on the 12th. Today the front office is closed so I'm hoping to get a lot done without any interruptions to screen students or help out with registration. I'll update more soon. I will add pictures as well. Take care.
