I am not interested in starting the great "do I need a stroller a debate". I just want some info on the double strollers and how bigger kids fit in them.

I am planning to use a double stroller from orlando stroller. Can anyone who has used them for older or bigger kids comment on how they fit in either the BOB city double or the double classic?

Thanks in advance

Looking at the double stroller from Orlando Stroller, I cannot imagine how my 6yr old would fit in it...she's 49 inches tall. We rented a double directly from Disney 1.5 yrs ago (when the girls were 3 and 5- and our five year old at the time was about 47 inches, so tall) and they fit in just fine. We are planning on get one this time too. My understanding is that kids up to age of 8 can fit in the ones at Disney. It's just alot more open seat than the ones I see at Orlando Stroller.

My suggestion...rent from magicstrollers.com. They're the same strollers but cheaper. We just used them last week and they were great. My kids are almost 7 & 4 and they fit great. I was wondering how my son would fit but it worked out well. I'll try to figure out how to post a pic.....

Thanks - do you recall the brand/name of the stroller?

We just got back from Disney yesterday, and my almost 6 yr old and 8 yr old fit in the double stroller from Disney. My eight year old was a little squished, but then we figured out how to put the top back on the stroller and then she had tons of room.

thanks for all the info.

I think we want to rent from a place outside of disney. We are staying at the Boardwalk and anticipate walking with the kids to DHS or Epcot and will want a stroller for that as there will be lots of walking throughout the day. My guess is my 8 year old will use it sometimes towards the end of the day, walking to or from the park, etc. My kids will be 8 and 5 and are pretty normal weight and size.

We use the sit in stand stroller. My daughter has Vaso Vagul and can't stand for long periods, b/c she could pass out. She is 9 and very tall for her age also. But she has no problem sitting in this. It gives her a chance to rest her feet and relax for a bit while we are on the move. And my 2 year old sits in the front.:goodvibes

I bought the cheaper version of that stroller and brought it to Disney for my triplets and honnestly it's the best stroller. It's easy to push regardless of the weight. At times I had 2 of the girls sitting in the stroller and the 3rd was sitting on the handle bar against me and I pretty much pushed them like that alot. Although the limit is 100lbs, I was pushing 120lbs around in total and could do it with one hand while holding the 3rd one. Honnestly, it's worth renting it. I have the city micro but they rent the city mini which is a bit bigger then mine but carries the same weight.

How is the City Double on the bus?

So many people complain about double strollers on the bus.

We've pretty much decided to take our Joovy Ergo Caboose rather than rent the City Double, and I think the Joovy folds just as small, just in a different shape. I'm thinking that if people don't have trouble with the City Double, we should be ok with the Joovy.

We used it 2 years ago and found it to be super easy. Not too bulky and really simple to close. One trick that helped us was taking all the stuff we usually throw in the bottom of the stroller, like sweatshirts and hats, and keeping it in a plastic bag or one of the recyclable canvas grocery bags. This way we could take it out quickly.
